Don't kill yourself or other drivers with the gas fumes.they make more I believe and is not as heavy so the exhaust is up off the ground more close to your sleeper.

The a/c unit fits right in between the front passenger seat and the dash. All I have to do is lift it in place in between the driver and passenger seat, Volvos have a lot of room in between, plus, my truck has an iShift with the control panel on the dash. Hook up the hose vent to the passenger window and I'm ready to cool.

Why? The generator has a 3.5 gallon tank and I mounted a lockable/vented box big enough to carry a 7 gallon can. I'm only out 4 nights a week, so, I don't think I will have to lug too much ;-)

You can hook it up to the 7 gallon tank also.

I did the same type of setup with a champion 3100 inverter generator. It has a 70hr run time with an external tank and runs my ac in econ mode. The champion doesn't have a pump either, so I added a briggs/stratton pulse pump for 17.00 and now it happily purrs along.

Are you using regular extention cords?

I am running a heavy 8ft extension cord into the cab and then split from there with standard surge powerstrip

Thats how I run mine. It stays in econo-mode for everything. If the load becomes more than it can handle at idle,.. it will turn the RPM's up to power what ever the load needed. I switch everything over to the generator at night. Dorm style mini fridge, 42" LCD TV, Satellite, AC, and Laptop is what its doing most evenings. It has no problem running all of that for 15 hours or more. I run mine 7 days a week. I rarely have to fill my cans more than twice a week.

I use an 8500 BTU in my condo and its more than enough to keep it very comfortable even on the hottest days.

I have a 4 way household outlet inside the cab wired directly to the 30amp plug in the generator.
