If you complain to your DM enough and if you got a decent DM s/he will help and try to get you into another rig!! Or call Norma and let her know that you have been sitting more then you have been running. Some thing should happen either if it's a good or bad thing.

Also if your not running the miles then this means one thing. Your not bugging the hell out of your DM for miles and to them it seems you enjoy sitting for the awesome 40.00 layover pay!!

I bug the living hell outta my DM and I run 2400-3400 and I only get 1400-1800 when I start to head home. No BS!!! I can show you my load assignment book to back up my story.

I got all my endorsements and took my dbl training and hopefully soon I can get on some sort of DCS for a steady $$$$$..

Believe it or not. Makes little difference to me. Things have gotten better the last couple of weeks. DM got me paid for miles I drove to pick up my truck, so it made last weeks check better than it would have been. Also, after a slow start last week and a few three hundred milers, I got a run to Laredo, and a 1100 miler to get me to the house this weekend. I need to get some repairs made to my truck, but none of them are serious enough to spend a week at a company shop, so I'm going to keep running. By the way, I'm single, so they hit me up pretty good on the tax thing. Also paying escrow and have money comming out for 401K.

If you get off the road for a while, that experience doesn't help much. I came off the road in '04 so had to take what was offered. PAM was hiring experienced drivers. All the other "starter" companys just wanted students. Nobody else would touch me because of the lack of recent driving. Thats why PAM. Whether I stay with them or not, they got me back behind the wheel, and I appreciate it. Thanks to them my options will be better real soon. Meanwhile, I guess I'll have to deal with all the crap.

    Baby steps Nomad...

The grass is not always greener on the other side. It's how you make of it. Put your time in and see what kind of opportunities come your way. This is what I am doing.

If PAM offers me some thing I like then I may just stay with them. At this time I am CYA!!

Yes chip is right about his statement; which he forgot to mention that we do get a 5% deduction off the top. But hopefully it will end soon.

And from what I was told a driver sign on is 1800.00, if they are a 1st seat driver. Not one that came out of school but one that is ready to get into the drivers seat.

And yes if you do your job and comply with the 11/14/70 hrs your fine. Logs department won't get on you. But don't think for one second you can get away from violating your logs. They will call you in soon enough. If you want to be a trainer then you do have to go threw the departments: logs/safety/fuel/maintenance/etc...

Also you can override you rig if you want to keep it running; which you don't have to worry about the on and off crap.
