I was MOSTLY given a reasonable amount of miles my first year. Once school was paid for the average fell pretty bad.
It could be a nitemare to get a hold of Road Rescue. I could never be sure who was on the other end of the qualcomm. The three longest times between dropping a load and getting another were 27 hours, 36 hours and 75 hours.
In one of the last days with them I had stayed a weekend at one of the Ohio yards. On Monday they told me to find an empty. My dispatcher finally told me to drive to Columbus to get an empty. I was just about to get off at the exit and QC said pu at the yard I had driven 100 miles from and deliver that night 11:30 about 75 miles from that yard. I freaking HATED the fact that Auto or Linehaul or ANY other dept could jump right over my dispatcher.
Initially I took a small ice chest along and bought a bag of ice every other day. Later I got a Coleman 12V Cooler. Mine worked fine. I would take deli sliced turkey and all the fixins for a sandwich for a week or more when I left home. Sometimes stopped at Walmart out on the road to restock.
I am GLAD I am away from PAM. Not so glad about WHY I am away. Because of situations I was put in I had enough minor trailer rubs that I got dismissed.
Be VERY careful! In NJ there are a couple tight places. I can't remember where all the others were.
My honest, no BS, opinion of P.A.M.

Lots of companies will over-hire without actually having a solid freight base, this is so that the company, has trucks available at any given part of the country at any time to be ready for dispatch. Good for the company, but, bad for a driver. ...again just my opinion.

I love all the info everyone is leaving about PAM. I have been trying to fined a lot of info and boy is this good stuff. I was only planing to drive for them for the first year anyway. I tell you one Company i do not like at all is PRIME. They turned me down and would not tell me why. Other then just that they had better qualified candidates and they had no further information at this time. So i chose PAM and all is good after school, I was told to contact C1 Driver solutions in Indianapolis, Indiana. Was wondering if anyone knows anything about that school. Good or bad thanks.

I've trained lots of students that went to C1. From what they tell me it's not too bad, it's what you would expect from a three week school. There is an intersection where you turn left and the light turns yellow and the instructor says you blocked traffic. The hotel could be cleaner. The equipment could be better. But it's just there to get you a CDL. Good Luck...

I did C1 in Fort Worth. Mud except when it snowed! Beater trucks.
But I did get my CDL.... -
I had an ice storm in FtW when i was in C1. No big deal lol
-
And honestly....their trucks arent that much worse than PAM's....just older lol
-
This is funny stuff. I will be leaving to go to school at C1 on sunday the 8th. Wish me luck. Been a long time coming.

I wish you all the best Casioman!
I hope you and PAM are a better match than I and PAM was! -
