Knight Transportation does hair follicle drug test and has now merged with Swift and manages both companies. I don't know if the Swift students still do urine tests or now do hair follicle. -
Normally I would leave a topic as it is but replying with a reference to the previous post there has been some changes this month.
First a bit of background. The doctors have been buried in making tests for patients to cross a threshold that you are 50 and too sick to drive a semi. Forget that a moment, here is a bunch of drugs, or a cpap machine or something else. The Doctor is not the one in charge of making you well anymore, he is being undermined by a greater level above him those who make and sell drugs. For example. How to get more drugs into Americans? Making articles into medical journals (I am actually a article in a obscure one in which I have not found yet, one of these days Im going to....)
Then telling or teaching the doctor to run a test on 40 year old truckers for example a xray, suddenly that driver is in need of medicine for example. Boom a percentage of our industry suffers because you have to be buried in dealing with diagnosis that interferes with younger and perhaps sicker drivers in their prime.
Several weeks ago I told my pain management doctor where he can shelve my patient file. Then went into medical detox for a week at our hospital. It's a private room that cost a bunch of money with medicines that replaced the drugs I was on. With specific drugs to fight the cold turkey withdrawal that usually kill people too sick to survive them. My heart, pressure and system went through with flying colors and on the 5th day kicked out told gwan, youre fine. As far as they were concerned. They took a bunch of blood though and tested for TB which was a old enemy out of Baltimore. Im probably immune to it by now.
Sitting here with nothing in the system reveals the extent of what really is wrong and discards the increasingly complex pile of rather BS diagnosis that was beginning to accumulate. I could go on maintaince drugs to maintain, but why? There is no craving. No addiction or dependance. What the body exams revealed at my private doctor who is not influenced by all the recent crap going on in our medical world showed yes I have this and that and other things. Nothing much has changed except that I had a doctor who was adding more and more stuff and a State plus DEA was tightening on him to take away from his patients.
One of the biggest thing with Pain Patients is that they are not free, by contract to go into medical detox or any kind of help to get medicines designed to fight narcotics in the human being. They automatically lose the relationship with the pain doctor on one hand and the state plus the DEA gets involved with the particular patient and doctor situation. It's a bit of a tornado in a teacup right now that will take months to resolve. I already know that Im not DOT legal medically. Not with this skeleton and muscles etc with that many miles on me (About 3 million give or take 500K) half in old iron no air ride etc.
Theoratically I could live a drug free life, but there is no point. I have a man in my building who is going through chemo and his blood labs prior to treatments show numbers stout enough that he will outlive us all. They lab test chemo people so that the blood panel must be in a certain range of strength to fight what is about to happen once the chemo hits em going after the cancer itself. He is also a trucker with essentially as much as years I got.
If you are wrapped up in CPAP, Drugs or fighting DOT medical stuff in the last 5 to 15 years for whatever reason, get a older doctor who knows nothing about you and your history. Have him or her examine you carefully hunting whatever they can detect against the DOT Long Form (Saying NO to everything as a formal challenge to this doctor's ability to detect stuff.) Once that exam is over you will be told what you got possibly what you aint got. The secret is to be able to stay in that office for about 30 minutes and share your history and how you possibly been caught up in a system designed to make 25 year olds go onto medicare and disability away from anything before bigger worse things come along I would imagine.
I grew up in a time without a internet. If something was wrong that interfered with your sleep, enjoyment of life or you broke something, you had a doctor take care of it. Sometimes you didnt make it. But in those days with no net and none of the pressures you are seeing from corperations in our country these days life was very simple. Let's say you had trouble at work one night. You took care of that stress by blowing off steam, or whatever it is that allows you to forget about it and move on.
Im watching drivers get masked slapped on, computers hooked up to them, drugs poured down the gullet by the bottle and tested beyond reason. If you are in a doc's office for a refill, you endure about a hours worth of tests, questions and essentially a process by which you will be detected as a problem and then dealt with. When I go see my private doc, I get in, they get the vitals and 5 minutes later I tell him what the problem is. He thinks about it and then tells me this or that and it's done.
Going to a pain doctor is a whole different problem. You are tested, then cross tested then questioned by 4 people all of whom are not your friends. They are there to make sure your information given to them with your own mouth is consistent and that your medicines are on track. Then a bunch of new tests have been showing up. Either as a form of control, to make you on paper sicker and get issued greater amounts of referrals to other doctors who are more than happy to get a few thousand dollars in a hour processing you with a CPAP or something.
I am oversimplification this post for a number of reasons, one I don't want to get into trouble more than necessary. I feel that the entire Medical Insitution has been flipped onto it's ear. It's not treating you and your boo boos anymore. It's about monetizing you and if necessary prosecuting you should you fail to remain consistent with certain meds written to you. You do not get any of these scheduled drugs without the State recording your dispensing at the pharmacy within a week and the DEA tracks every script written by a doctor.
Which is leads me to complete this thought by saying this. My regular doctor in my area has been with me almost 20 years since my first one here in Arkansas took himself out due to bone cancer. That one was a GREAT doctor. But he knew #### well what was about to come and pick 5 different horrible outcomes and he went out on his own terms. My regular doctor does not give out drugs that trip the State, DEA and anyone else interested in tracking every pill that gets to the people. He will give out common simple drugs like a liquid iobufrin injection or perhaps a steriod that dries you up when you have a sniffle. But does nothing for the brain. Anything worse gets shipped to the ER. THEY can prescribe the good stuff that is necessary.
Guess what. the ER wont. Unless you tell the ER doctor certain things. I have not been to the ER in years because I was a patient they don't want to touch. Now that I am no longer a pain patient on paper and free of drugs, if I had a boo boo and hit the ER, I would be processed without question and the boo boo fixed.
My week was rather difficult, it could have been far worse but monitoring of the vitals in real time telemetry and other forms of technology 24/7 showed that Im doing pretty good considering. But no I will not pass a DOT test where I stand.
I will be doing additional testing to confirm or deny two diagnoses that I was told this year. If these were actually present in my system and proven correct by the specialist such as a cardiologist who does nothing but look at hearts really particularly... then we will find out what's true and what is false.
I refuse to be part of a medical system designed to fool me into thinking Im at death's door. If I need something great. Let's see what we can do about it. But Im not going to be monetized by a large corporate group system that co-opted the medical system and in some cases our very state and federal laws to make sure I am a good boy and do not argue or rebel.
Nope. Im speaking up now. If I don't who will? If they come for you and no one has spoken and you do not then? What value are you? Take time to consider the directions your life is taking versus what you are trying to build in your life. You work really hard in trucking. Make it worth something. Not everyone is going to have a million acres and a mansion. But Im #### sure Im not going to go along with the massive changes in our current medical system that has become pretty Orwellian backed by a state more interested in prosecuting someone, probably the doctor.
And you wonder why so many basic doctors, MD's Walk in clinics and ER's do not prescribe a #### thing to anyone these days. But more than happy to give a 25 year old a 1000 dollar a month drug that has nothing to do with narcotics. And everything to do with making that young un a part of a machine for extraction.
When I was 25, I was pretty fit. Nothing wrong that a good night's rest after a dinner could not cure. Now Im getting to watching younger people with a owie getting into that waiting room sitting across from me saying stuff about this test or that tests once reserved for the aged decades ago.
Enough is enough I say.
