Well look at your age, you've learned tolerance, but sometimes it wears VERY thin.
Glad you like it, I did as well!![]()

Now that F4, that would be the ultimate flight for me. One problem, the bloody kid in front would likely kill this old guy! But what a way to go, eh!!
Well now, look at yourself! 37 years out there is no small feat! -
Well Endzone, some people say nothing bothers me because I am so conceited. But I really think that something an old boss of mine (smartest person I ever met, despite his 3 PhD's) told me once as I was starting my first design project.
"Well, you will get a lot of help, advice, thoughts and other stuff from the engineers and other useful idiots up here. And when you are ready for the important half of the advice go to the R&D shop and talk to the head mechanic and Chief Test Pilot. Listen closely to what they say. Thank them politely. Bring them donuts every Friday morning."
Best ###### advice I ever got!!!!! Learned to never take myself too serious and respect everyone thoughts. Everybody's input and opinions are worth something, although I sometimes reject some of it, it all should be considered and just because someone was wrong the last time doesn't mean they won't be right the next time. We all make mistakes. We all have brilliant ideas. The ratio of one to the other may vary widely from person to person and time to time.
With this advice I made many improvements on the airplanes we were building. I had a lot of fun doing it. And when I went into the R&D hangar none of the mechanics gave me a hard time (unless I was alone, then they were like chickens on June bug, really a sign of respect). Some of the other engineers would not even go to the R&D hangar.
I will try to keep everyone informed when as the wife and I go along, but I will warn you. My old habit is to go totally into something until I think I am 'up to speed' on a subject. So I might not post very much for a few weeks starting next week.
All of our offers were from 'starter companies' so I used a very logical method of choosing.
Nailed the offers up on a wall. Blindfolded myself. Fired fourteen rounds from the ole P-14-45 and counted holes in offers. The winner? Werner, 3 holes.
