I see your pointe, and don't really disagree. I just think those guys travel to a little different beat than most of us. Nothing wrong with that, I just don't care to analyze everything to death.
JustSonny and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
Would you please keep us wannabees updated. You seem to be a very cool customer to me. Nothing seems to bother you much. I think you have the right mentality for the job, and you all will do well. Thanks and keep us updated about who you go to work for and your travels.

I think everyone should get together with you and give you a hug. And no we are not (Nut Jobs) but ordinary folk. Sometimes watch what you post. You make yourself a target for some people. This forum is pretty laid back, Lots of veteran drivers, driving for many years, they are the ones you will get along with. We have lifes experience. Hang out here for a while and say HI to everyone.

No, thank you! I only did that to show that I'm not a nutcase. None of that makes me a better person than the next guy. I've just had opportunities that a lot of people never have. It really wasn't to impress, but to show [prove], if you will.
Now that F4, that would be the ultimate flight for me. One problem, the bloody kid in front would likely kill this old guy! But what a way to go, eh!!
Well now, look at yourself! 37 years out there is no small feat! -
Well Endzone, some people say nothing bothers me because I am so conceited. But I really think that something an old boss of mine (smartest person I ever met, despite his 3 PhD's) told me once as I was starting my first design project.
"Well, you will get a lot of help, advice, thoughts and other stuff from the engineers and other useful idiots up here. And when you are ready for the important half of the advice go to the R&D shop and talk to the head mechanic and Chief Test Pilot. Listen closely to what they say. Thank them politely. Bring them donuts every Friday morning."
Best ###### advice I ever got!!!!! Learned to never take myself too serious and respect everyone thoughts. Everybody's input and opinions are worth something, although I sometimes reject some of it, it all should be considered and just because someone was wrong the last time doesn't mean they won't be right the next time. We all make mistakes. We all have brilliant ideas. The ratio of one to the other may vary widely from person to person and time to time.
With this advice I made many improvements on the airplanes we were building. I had a lot of fun doing it. And when I went into the R&D hangar none of the mechanics gave me a hard time (unless I was alone, then they were like chickens on June bug, really a sign of respect). Some of the other engineers would not even go to the R&D hangar.
I will try to keep everyone informed when as the wife and I go along, but I will warn you. My old habit is to go totally into something until I think I am 'up to speed' on a subject. So I might not post very much for a few weeks starting next week.
All of our offers were from 'starter companies' so I used a very logical method of choosing.
Nailed the offers up on a wall. Blindfolded myself. Fired fourteen rounds from the ole P-14-45 and counted holes in offers. The winner? Werner, 3 holes.
