A late update. If you remember I used a credit card to pay my insurance in full upfront to save a little over $2000. The card was paid down to zero balance by July 01.

Can you now pay your insurance in full? If you can’t, then not much has changed. Ultimately you want your goal to be not to rely on loans or credit cards as there usually is a fee involved.

Just wanted to say congratulations. Yes anytime you can save money with discipline go for it. Did you say that you purchase your fuel with a credit card? If so, you are not getting any of the good discounts in fuel that is available

bigguns, Rideandrepair and PE_T Thank this.

Reminds Me of a time, I used my debit card, ran as credit, for fuel, for maybe a year or so. My bank had a 2.or 3% pay back for doing so. The amount was a wash as far as cash vs credit price. The program was cancelled after the financial reforms. I cashed it out, to the tune of $1200.00. The folks at the Bank were surprised. It was nice!!!

Kudos on the 12 months no interest. Smart way to do it if you make it work.

Did you use a cash back card?

    PE_T and bigguns Thank this.

Who cares if nothing much has changed. I saved @2200.

A lot has changed. I saved $2200. I paid off the insurance premium in just a few months rather using their payment plan. Yes I can pay in full this year.

Yes I use a credit card to pay for fuel. I haven't found one single discount from anyone that saves me more money than by getting fuel at small fuel stops. T/S fuel runs on average $.25 to $.30 more than the places I fuel at. I use a card that pays me cash back as well.
As an added bonus I don't have to deal with all the idiots at the chain t/s. I also don't waste time in line at the big chain t/s. It is a win/win as far as I am concerned for buying fuel.

10-4 as long as you are content with what you are doing and the money you spend or save on fuel. I like to put that out there bc some guys are not aware that discounts are available

I have talked to a bunch of those people. Nobody can get me fuel cheaper than what I am paying. As a matter of fact I have one more to check out on my phone right now.

    Cabinover101 Thanks this.
