Excuse me, that was at my previous company on a mileage contract. My point was I was successful and profitable at that rate, with a $2400 a month truck payment. So when the rates come back down, I will survive. Next time read and dig into the thread a little more before popping off, jag off.

You know nothing about my operation, but if it makes you feel better here are my last six loads RPM to the truck $4.12. $3.14, $4.87, $3.32, and $2.87, but yeah I’m a bottom feeder:

Im happy you got your numbers turned around but what you said was you were profitable at. $1.34 pm

What that says to everyone else is go buy some pos truck and make it with cheap rates

This is what happens all the time
Guys take info like that and it keeps rates down
Then their truck breaks or they want time off and realize they’re too broke to do so

They get out and the next one is in line waiting to do the same thing

People love to post their $4 freight numbers which are usually the short runs but in reality that $4 pm rate should be what ever truck is at for all miles not the $1 pm loads

I'm not understanding why @runningman0661 is being criticized for being profitable at 1.34, he's not boasting about it, simply stating he was able to be profitable at that rate, through a company lease program. The way I understand it, now that he owns his own truck he was only making the point that he's ready for whatever this market throws his way. Do we really think these rates will sustain until our retirements? I for one believe it's smart to be able to operate in the highs and lows of this economy, which is exactly what he's doing. I also don't know everything, I'm a company driver of nearly 20 years so I'm only stating my opinion.

Because at a $1.34 you’re way ahead running as a company driver

Wether you have zero bills or not you need to figure the first $1 per mile. All miles goes to the truck
You may be able to run with less overhead but that number shouldn’t dictate grabbing cheap freight
