Yeap, I left Mercer after 3.5 years and did a local gig, home every day and weekends off, for 15ish months or so.

That's exactly the truck I drive and the only brand that my company will never buy again. I love it, the shop hates it. The entire fleet of Internationals cost my company about 3cpm more than the Mack Anthems or Cascadias. I much prefer this truck to a Mack or Cascadia but the shop doesn't and at this company, the shop has all the pull.

Be aware if your DEF sensor goes out you may be down for weeks trying to find another one. They are incredibly hard to find and they went out in BOTH of the LT's I drove for this company and in BOTH cases I was down for 4 days just waiting for the part AT AN INTERNATIONAL DEALER BOTH TIMES. . And that's when they HAD them available. Watch the rear brakes, every single one of our LT"s ate the rear set of pads on the rear drive axle. The fronts were always fine. There was like a list of 10 things that LT's have go wrong with them and EVERY SINGLE ONE in our fleet had that list of 10 things go wrong.

One has so much trouble the cruise doesn't work anymore because the ACC system went out. They just bumped the foot pedal speed up to the normal cruise speed for everyone else. But that one had the A26 engine which was horrific. I have the X15 and I love it.

Unfortunately these LT"s start REALLY showing their colors around 350,000 miles. That's probably why you were able to get one so cheap. Good luck with it. I've never talked to a guy who had anything bad to say about Landstar as an owner op. I've never talked to a driver who drove for Landstar as a company driver that had much good to say about it.

    Does Landstar have company drivers?

My DEF level/quality sensor already went out a few months ago, I was down for two weeks, I now carry a spare in the truck.

No they don’t, some fleet owners hire drivers, but no company drivers here.

That's funny I've talked to several landstar drivers who said they did have company drivers.

That's strange. I've talked to several landstar drivers who spoke about their company driver division and how they aren't that great to them.

Landstar does not own any trucks only trailers. You can go to work for a fleet owner but not for landstar

This will be the last time I address this since you seem to not be able understand the concept. THERE ARE NO COMPANY DRIVERS AT LANDSTAR. Some guys that own several trucks (fleet owners) put drivers in those trucks, but they still have to pass Landstars qualifications and go through the lengthy hiring process. They are paid by the truck owner, not Landstar.
