You don't do much D&H's? Those have been some of my best loads.... and I haven't had much trouble with trailers. I did have a Petro put on a couple tires that were flat spotted, and did a trailer inspection on another.

Currently I do about 30% drop/hook, but sometimes at the receiver I’ve found it can be a toss up if empties are available. When booking a load that’s a drop/hook at the receiver I try and get a feel from the agent what the trailer situation looks like.

The availability of used trailers and the price point will have to change dramatically this year before I go that route.

I never book a drop and hook on the delivery end just before a holiday. I've only been stuck with no empty twice in five years. Oddly enough, the first time was the very first drop and hook load I took for LS. I went another six months before I chanced another.

So you can run with your own trailer too? Just do everything as Live Load and Live Unload on each end? Does that pay more per load if you aren’t using LS trailers? Or just less hassle?

    JoeyJunk and runningman0661 Thank this.

The trailer gets 7% of the linehaul. You will get a separate settlement statement for it. LS doesn't own most of the trailers that carry their livery. They lease them and the owners get that 7%. If you are the owner you get the 7%. HTH.

BTW your trailer has to pass an inspection every 120 days just like your truck.

I’ve been down for a week at the house waiting on an inlet NOX sensor. It finally came in yesterday, so I’m back up and rolling. I guess it could have been worse, I could have been stuck in a hotel somewhere waiting on the dadburn part.

I've been down for a month....my choice though. Planning on coming back towards the end of next week. I need to do my truck inspection and CABS class. Seeing some really good freight out there, save me some. ;)

Kinda just been staying close to home the last few weeks, running 300-500 mile loads. I had been sick for a couple of weeks and finally broke down last weekend and went to the doctor, tested positive for Covid and had the early stages of pneumonia. Doctor put me on steroids, inhaler, and antibiotics. I’m finally starting to get back to feeling 100%.

The wife and I are going up to Harrahs Cherokee Casino in Cherokee, NC for Valentine’s Day. Then we should be back out rolling on Wednesday of next week.
