Glad to hear you’re doing better, had a mild case of covid over the holidays too - happy you’re back at making money and enjoy the time with the better half!

Feel better @runningman0661 good thing you caught it when you did. A past coworker of mine was more stubborn and had pretty advanced pneumonia with his covid and it took him a while to recoop. Happy V day with the wife. Don’t forget your followers when you hit it big at the casino.

Didn’t hit it big, but came home with about half of what we took as our gambling money.

Hey Runningman, since you have control over where you go and when you go now that you're at Landstar (as opposed to your FCC days), do you ever go to cool places that you wouldn't have been able to go to as a company driver?

For example, I drive down I-80 all the time but especially in the state of Iowa (which is the BEST stretch of I-80 IMO thanks to it being so truck friendly and never really any heavy traffic). I always like to look at the casino by Davenport when I pass it, not sure if it's in Davenport proper (it might be in Leclaire) but you have to know which one I'm talking about. It's huge and has truck parking too.

But anyways I like to look at the sign at that casino when I pass by the casino and they always have some cool concerts and events going on that I think to myself "Man, if I had the freedom to choose where and when I go it sure would be cool to trip plan where I could take a long ten hour break (perhaps a 15 hour break) and stay at the Casino for the night and see a show".

Do you feel that you are able to "stop and smell the roses" more now since you are an Owner Op and not a company driver anymore?

I always thought to myself that if I ever bought a truck, I would like to do that and really use being OTR to my advantage. Stop by that Casino in (or by) Davenport one day and see a concert that I'de really like to see on my 10 hour break. Or maybe catch a 34 reset in small town America like New Ulm, Minnesota and check out the Octoberfest there with the German-Americans. Get me a load out of Kraft in New Ulm or something.

It's certainly something I think about as a company driver. I do wish I had the freedom to "stop and smell the roses" more often and if I were an Owner Op, I do think that I would do so.

Rhythm city is the Davenport casino you're thinking of. Lacrosse WI is a nice small city to check out. Wisconsin Dells also has more than just water parks too. You could go on a duck boat tour or go on the upper dells boat tour which is pretty cool. Wander the shopping area downtown in the dells. There's also Ho-,Chunk casino right off the interstate at Dells/Baraboo. They have truck parking.
For you guys that are O/O those are a couple places to think about. That wasn't just to BeHereNow.

That’s really crazy you mentioned Rhythm City. I just won $5000 there on Valentines Day lol.
