don't be such a hater on automatics. really. just wait to you get stuck in oh...lets say dallas or austin or houston or st louis or (insert large city here) rush hour traffic. once that happens i bet you might lighten up on the auto's just a little.
keep it up and be safe out there Driver. the fun is just beginning.

I'm not as bad as some others out there, I mean I wouldn't leave a job just because they have automatic trucks. They just aren't my preference and in taking to trainers, they think the same way, it just takes control away from the driver. I may come around to liking the autos, but right now I just don't like them.
-
Well our truck broke down at the hard yesterday, so I'm home until early tomorrow morning when hopefully we'll get it fixed, sure it's blurring just sitting around. I did duke backing for a few hrs. I can already tell that's gonna give me fits!
-
Well, finally rolling out tomorrow after switching trucks today, heading to Monroe, LA and then to St. Louis, MO from there. Looking forward to finally getting out of here!

Dropped in St Louis and spent the night in east St. Louis, picked up tonight in Edwardsville, Ill and drove to the yard in Olive Branch, MS which is probably the best looking truck terminal I've seen. Tomorrow we will head toward Columbia, SC to drop off on Friday morning.

That yard in Olive Branch is better than the dump they used to have in Memphis. I worked for Total from 2000-2004, before the US Express buyout.....US Express bounced 20 of us off a dedicated account so I left, but all in all it was a good company. They kept me busy and thats all i really care about.

Total has been great, they definitely keep you very busy, I think we logged like 3200 miles last week. I was really leery about the US Xpress ownership, but honestly they have very minimal interaction with us, you would never know they owned the company of it wasn't for the paperwork. And I've heard that Total is on the prices of buying the company back from Xpress.

It's going great! The first trick I got had alot of problems and was in and out of the shop the whole first week. But on memorial day they made it right and gave me a brand new 2014 Freightliner and a manual transmission. Mills are great, fleet manager is awesome and really takes care of me. The only really down side can be night and weekend dispatch, but I think that's pretty much every company. And they gave everyone a raise on the 1st, so now, instead of starting at .32 cpm I am at .34 and it goes up from there. So all in all I really can't complain and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks for asking!
