Don't judge the company by the hotel lol, it's not very good. I would say it's 50/50, evErything they got in for 2015 is auto, but from what I hear that is not a sign of things to come, they will still get manuals in. Avg length is probably 700 miles or so, but if you're out of the Jackson terminal the fleet typically have a pre assignment for you either right before our right after you get unloaded. If you need training, see if you can request a trainee by the name of Jeff Graham, he is the BEST! Abby questions just let me know.

How's your experience with Total?
-
Hey Robert! Hope your journey is going well with Total. A few questions if you don't mind. During orientation did you have to take some sort of physical agility or capabilities test? Or is it just your standard DOT physical stuff? Also do you know if the freightliners are evolutions? Also if you team, do they match you up with someone or do you already have to come in with a partner. Any info you have will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
-
Sorry it took me a lil while to get back to you. I'll answer your questions the best I can. As far as the equipment goes, they have the evolutions, I have one that's a 2014 and its been a great truck. As for the physical test, when I went through it, it was the easiest thing ever, we had to climb under a makeshift trailer and crawl out, carry a bag that probably weighed 20 lbs, and do a push/pull test, that was it. But the whole training program had changed dramatically since I went through it, so that could be different now. They got a new head of safety and he's changing all of that. As far as teams go, I've heard both, that you can bring sometime with you or they will find someone for you. They seem to be pushing teams here lately so it would probably be a good time to come on board if that's what you're looking to do. Any more questions just ask.

Ok. Thanks for all the info. You've been really informative. One other thing, during the physical test are they checking pulse and all that after each activity? And what would you say in your opinion is the average hometime for a team? Ok that's it I promise. lol. Thanks in advance.
-
When I went through it they didn't check any of that stuff, it was very basic, that may have changed now with everything else that has changed around there but I'm not sure. I assume the team hometime would be like solo, minimum of ten days out and two days off.
-
So would you say total is good to start with as far a newbie.
-
I would say they're excellent to start with and get experience, if you can make it through the training phase I think you'll love it. The training thing has changed quite a bit since I went through it and they want you to team with another newbie after your hrs with a trainer. I don't think that's safe or smart, but that's what they do now.

Team with a newbie what really why is that. What was it before they started this. If you team with a newbie you get the sign on bonus
