1000 a month for cargo, or liability and cargo, either way it is too much for an established carrier, but I have never heard of just cargo being that expensive.
Nobody is paying 54k a year for insurance. Literally nobody. I just got quoted as a new authority for a 2019 389 1 mill cargo for 12k a year
That is high for being leased on..am 138 week for cargo, 30 for occ, and 130 a month for bobtail and physical
Guess I'll have to look into getting my own authority for a proper quote. And I thought $1k a month was standard for lease-ops...
UPDATE: I am now looking to switch companies. Tired of this company's ########! I took over a month off to fix up my truck some more and been waiting for a load, any load, for 3 days. Still home. The constant layovers, the lack of communication with dispatch, the absolutely useless weekend and night shift dispatch, the constant Amazon ####-ups, their new company-issued fines for OOS, tickets, late arrival, and the fact that most of their dispatch is not even in US but in Russia...yeah, I think I'm done.
$2000 down with $800 month for insurance with progressive less than 6 months cdl own authority. I've been getting loads from load boards for about 2 weeks. Brokers don't communicate all of the needed info. loads are posted early in the morning or in the afternoon other than that calling about loads has been a way to exercise negotiations but don't really lead to a rate con. KNOW your rpm and make your initial offer slightly above so they counter right where you want them its ok to deadhead unlimited miles to get moving
