Week 2 is officially over! It was quite an experience to say the least. I got 1800 miles in in 6 days. We traveled to northern California, southern Caliornia and parts of Arizona. I got off the truck in Phoenix on Thursday. The trip back to the motel was very interesting.

I got off the truck at 11:30 am. My bus wasn't scheduled to depart until 1:30pm. I went from Phoenix to Las Vegas. I had a 5 hour layover in Vegas. I dont know if any of you have ever spent a night in the Vegas Greyhound depot but what a loony bin that pace is. I guess it's the sleeping spot for all the homeless. A couple of fights broke out. One guy got kicked off the bus for being intoxicated. There is nothing funnier than a drunk trying to convince security that he isn't drunk. That show went of for about an hour. It only ended after the drunk spit on a security guard. After that metro showed up and asked the guy to leave. We departed Vegas at 1:30am. I slept all the way to my stop. I got back to the motel at 8am Friday morning. I think I'll stay in bed all weekend and recharge for my 3rd and final week starting on Monday!!

Yeah, it was fun. Ya know, now that i'm out of the truck I can reflect on my experience. Aside from the sleeping arrangements my time with the TE is beneficial. He really was a nice guy. He taught me some things, showed me easier way to do certain tasks and answered any question I had. I will stay in contact with him. I just got tired and cranky but now that its over I cant say it was a horrible experience. I mean really, I'll probably blow ### in my truck. Haha. I dont know if I'll ever sign up to be a TE but the bottom line is I was a guest in his home and like Schneider says......"Learn to adapt and overcome"

Have you thought about the oilfield? It's booming all around you. My old company just hired 16 guys, only 2 had CDL. I got into the oilfield with no experience ONLY cause of my CDL. I hate to see people waste their time trying to make it in trucking when there is much better oppurtunity right near them. You will make 1.5-2 times what you will driving OTR. You will be home more as well. Even working out of town I'm always within 2 hours of home. Do it while you can, if you can.....cause it won't last forever.
