Hey, I'll take Texas over NC any day! Just like Davy Crockett!

(yes, I know he was from TN, but he was just across the state line from NC!!)

Exactly, no difference what so ever. It's just most people can't be trusted with their own money. Once they get it, they spend it. As you can see by the situation out economy is in now..... That being said, I feel if you can't handle being responsible for your own taxes and need someone to do it for you then I guess PGT isn't the company for you. Move on down the line to the next place.

ut from what CJR had posted, I think PGT is a pretty good company to start out with and might even be a good company to have a full career at.

so what is it that's not "nice" about their equipment??? Just because its not a 86" studio sleeper doesn't mean it's junk. From what I've seen, they have equipment that is safe and reliable and they take good care of it. As for the tax situation, that is because of your state not because of PGT. NC has stipulations about out of state employment so go talk to your senators about that, it's not PGT fault.

Im not trying to start anything either, but you sure do sound like you need brand new equipment with big sleepers and no hassles what so ever. If that's the case, then trucking is deff not for you at all. Nothing is ever going to be the way you want it. And if you have certain requirements for equipment and sleeper size, then go buy your own truck and become an O/O. It's that simple.... You might even enjoy it more.

Wow. I'm trying to understand #1 what business it is of yours what I chose to drive, #2 how I choose to manage my money, #3 whether or not I become o/o.
This is cjr's thread. Not mine
    Not yours.
It sounds to me like you ARE trying to start something. But that's ok, it takes 2 to argue. I aint biting.

Well I can not remember the last info I posted, but I am now sitting in NJ off 95 at a loves in Trenton empty. I delivered the pipe from Houston yesterday. I got there in the morning and I was second in line. First guy unloaded in about an hour and I pulled up and got everything ready to unload and things were looking good. I still had 9.5 hrs on my drive line and it looked like I would get out of there quick. Oh boy was I wrong. The guy decided to go on break for about 45 min and then he drove off and unloaded 4 more trucks before he came back to me. I sat in the "sleeper" for 7 hours and then it took about 2 for him to unload me. I got my next load while I was waiting. Wallboard from Monaca PA to Woodbridge NJ. It had to deliver today by 1300. My dispatcher decided he wanted to have a sit down with me since I was right there. So by the time I got my load I had 1.75 left on my 14. The load was a pre load so that helped. I hit the road and ran my dam e log drive time down to 2 min and had to pull of on the PA pike on an emergency pull out. I was not sure if it was legal or if they were gonna make me leave in the night, but it was fine and several others were there too. I made the load just in time 12:45 and got unloaded by someone who had no business driving a fork lift. He damaged about 50 sheets and demolished about 10. Not my problem because the shipping manager had already singed me off so I just watched in amazement that anyone would employ this guy. He drove the forks into a stack. Dropped one stack from about 10ft. Scraped a whole bunch with the forks. Just good ol entertainment since I was already cleared. Anyway they are routing me home finally so they sent me here and will get me a south bound load in the morning. In the meantime I finally got a shower (record 4 days) and got some laundry done. Now I am going to bed.

If there are any other questions please let me know. I started this to give drivers a good idea of what to expect, but I am not completely sure if I am doing a good job or not. Like I said before I am just a driver and a soldier.

You can park in the turnouts on the PA pike as long as it doesn't have no parking signs. Most of them will have a line with signs saying "Park behind yellow Line" or something like that. If it doesn't, it's usually one of the no parking or emergency 2 hr parking turnouts.

Hey Noggin,,,what is some good advice on the road when your driving time is winding down like that...what if he wasn't near a place to pull over or worse what if it was a place that maybe the law or turnpike officials didn't allow parking and made hime move? How is that handled if you are out of time (and maybe the officer knows it)?

    Thanks
