I left about the time you got there. Living where I do just wasn't going to work on elogs, my truck was fresh out of warranty and scaring me.
So I parked it and came back here. 500 HP in a brand new hood, paper logs, 2 full days @ home every weekend and randomly but regularly home during the week. I've been asked not to discuss last years earnings,, but trust me, I made more than you did, LOL. (I also get decent health insurance and paid vacation)
But even with all that, I'm still making plans to bail and buy another truck. Why? My independence is worth it to me.
It's purely my opinion, but I believe that 90% of o/o's could make more money as drivers. Some of us so value the independence and control that we pay the price, the rest are smoking better stuff than I can find.

Id definately make more money if i got a real job. The problem is they'd expect me to actually work more than half the year.Last edited: Apr 11, 2019

Yeppers, told a buddy of mine yesterday that even if my income was just commensurate with a company guy, I'd still choose my independence over that.

I’m parking money in my Whole Life insurance policy...

If it’s a true business CPA the speaking in front of IRS isn’t and shouldn’t be an issue. Just because someone gets audited doesn’t mean they are guilty of anything it’s just means they want you to explain more in detail because numbers aren’t matching. You have the wrong CPA if you expect them to lie for you.

Well the truck is all fixed and ready to roll. The repair cost me $1,605. Now I just get to wait until Monday so I can get a load and start my week

Shouldn't that be under warranty?

Up to 300k miles and I am at 345K so that figures right lol. If I remember correctly the warranties on my truck are up to 500k on the drive train, 400k on emissions and aftertreatment, 300k on electrical. Don't quote me on that though.

Just went over my last years numbers to figure out my costs again. All I can say is it's an eye opener.
All miles driven 101,098
Gross Earnings $196,804 CPM = $1.95
Gross Expenses $128,070 CPM = $1.27
Wage $ 45,000 CPM = $.445
Net Earnings $ 23,734 CPM = $.234
Taxes $ 8,703 CPM = $.086
Total Profit $ 15,031 CPM = $.148
