Well all, i did it, i got that local job and start Monday. I had to go yesterday and take another D.O.T physical and drug test. I think ill take this job cause im really getting sick of physicals (3 in a month) but at any rate i got a company cell phone, signed a bunch of paperwork (passed on the insurance--too high) the wife can get it alot cheaper. but every year my weekly portion i pay goes down and after 5 years the company pays 100%...so it isnt too bad. The pay is ok they start at 15-18/hr but too get my foot in the door i offered to work for a little less. Say what you want but i wanted the #### job.....bad. hours are 7am to 5 pm M-F. they usually require 6 months experience for straight truck and 2 years for tractor trailer. So i was offered straight truck with the ability to move into tractor-trailer gradually and the doors open for a crack at operations manager down the road if i can handle the job and learn the biz. They like the fact i ran second shift operations for the hazardous waste facility for eight years. too bad i have been with GM for the last eight years, trying to remember all the hazmat stuff again. To say the least im about as stressed as they come....gotta make this work. Not many other options at this point. Im just happy i at least have a shot to be there for my kid....if only a shot. i'll do the best i can. >--->
