My luck with trainer, so stress right now.

Teaching is a separate skill in itself. I may know how to drive a truck but I can't teach you because I don't have the teaching ability. I too went through 4 trainers when I first started. I definitely can't deal with smoking it makes me sick literally.
They assigned me with a chain smoker nope not happening & he couldn't teach. 2nd one was dirty not happening & was afraid to drive in NYC I'm the trainee & was more concerned about learning so I did the NY driving. 3rd one was a local driver & they expected me to sleep in the truck every day weekend I was just going to help cover their contract no real learning drop & hook. I left after that.
Finally I got a truck driver- teacher clean non smoking. I was glad & it was night & day from the frauds who think they were trainers.

 

I was a trainer for like 2 years. You should know they don't actually train trainers or show them how to teach someone. They tell the trainer you have to run team loads at 1200 miles a day. That's how my old company was and why I stopped training. The student was tired and the trainer is tired.

I would say just try and finish the training to get Solo and try and see if the trainer has any useful information and brush off his bad information. The trainer should not be yelling. When I was trainer we had the new driver do all the backing. So he could get better backing when trainer could help and make sure new driver did not hit anything. I always said if you can make it thru training. It gets more easy once solo

 

You're different than me I'm definitely not the "wine & cheese" type but I definitely told the company you need to do a better job with your training. That is why I left you have the wrong people for the training. I commend you for being a good & giving student but you are there to be taught properly & that ain't happening. You can't be accepting of that.
I do say press forward toward your goal. Do not be afraid to speak up & if you have to start somewhere so be it. Don't be discouraged either if you way. If you can get through it where you are at now. All the best on your journey. We are here to encourage & help. Merry Christmas
