Glad to hear your doing well....
Sitting in cheyenne for the night since I wasn't given all the proper info on a ppl to relay a load from another driver.
Was told to take load from him after I delivered in cheyenne and run to denver so I could get load there for ontime delivery.
Only thing they left out was that the driver was in rawlins. When I found this out everyone was gone so I had to let them know I couldn't do it because I would only have 2 hrs on my 14 at 9:30pm and a 0100 appt for live unload...
Got hold of night dispatch and let them know what happened... they were really cool about it and took the load off me and left it on the original driver.

I saw one of your Heartland compadres sitting in the run away truck ramp coming down the Grapevine. He was sitting in the gravel behind the truck and just kept looking at the smoking brakes on the trailer. Truck and trailer looked like they might go up in flames at any minute the way those brakes were smoking. At least he caught the gravel ramp instead of going air borne into one of the cow pastures.
Seems like every time I come through there somebody is either sitting in the gravel lot waiting on a hook or is roasting the brakes going down the hill.tow614 Thanks this. -
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR !!!!!
Grapevine really isn't that bad... what would they do on cabbage,loveland(6), coming out of the tunnels on 70, or montana...heck parleys can be a challenge to a newbie..
First time i went down parleys it was a blinding snow at night and i did not realize how steep it was because i couldnt see it...
We have a lot of good experienced drivers at gordon who make it look easy out here..
I am reminded of a student scooter had once whom after his first trip across wyoming in a medium snow. Got off the truck and caught a plane home. That was enough for him...lolJrdude5, "Hang - Man", vikingswen and 2 others Thank this. -
I definitely understand what you're saying towe by the way does Gordon have any team operations.

Ok They Assign the truck to the person with the most experience gets the newest truck. I do have to say you prolly might not get a real good one out the gate. Im on my 3rd one. My first broke down for a week or so my 3 rd day out. They sent me to pick up another one in green bay. My second one never left the shop because of a check engine light on. This truck is a good one and I do not plan on giving it up. I have also put a lot of time in getting it to were I like it. Got a few things fixed and new rubber all around. So far so good. I will say They are good at getting things fixed. The reason my first one was down so long is cummings fault not our shop.
As for left over glue stuck on something just use WD 40 on it. Works great.
Now at neelys landing waiting to hook up in the AM. Got here a day early for a drop and load was not ready. Because of the weather this last week they said they are a day behind. Got about 2300 miles from sunday to today. A 406 mile run for tommorrow to Walmart in Gas City In. I shouild still be aboe to hit about 3000 miles for the week. I dont think thats to bad for the longest run of 750 miles and This will be my 7 th load for the week. I have home time for christmas so I dont think they want to get me to far from home. I have seen that you can take as much time on a run as you want as long as its not late. I never feel pushed here and that is one of the things I like the most.Last edited: Dec 13, 2013
