I guess it just amazes me what you can do with fish oil. All it was to do was displace water hence the WD name. I will have to give that a try. I wish it could fix my tight neck muscles that cripple my left side. I have all the symptoms for a heart attack and feel like I had a stroke since nothing wants to work right on the left side. I should have bought a hot tub for the truck instead of a fridge. :yes2557:

Ok... so I'm sitting here in Hannibal, Mo. waiting to deliver a load tomorrow and I park next to a Heartland truck.

While I am talking to my wife the driver returns to his truck. He was parked here during hometime. I am not going to use his name but after talking to him for some time I feel very relieved. This was definitely the guy I needed to talk to.

He has been there over 12 years..runs regional... and said he runs 2400 to 3200 miles a week. He says that just like gti communication is the key to getting good miles with heartland. If your dm knows when you're available and can depend on you then you will do well.

It was funny because he said when they were told of the buyout that they freaked because they thought they would have to run the mountains and start chaining. They were relieved to find out that was not the plan. Gti drivers will continue that stuff.

I was right about one thing.. they want trucks like ours..

He assured me that the gti drivers who want to work will be very well respected at Heartland and will do quite well.

There were other things he said that were very encouraging as well but I will not go into them now.

Overall I feel a big relief now. I know there may be some that will accuse him of being a company cheerleader but I seem to remember some of us being called that at gti.

If being willing to work with a positive attitude makes me a cheerleader or a company brown noser then count me in. All I want is an opportunity to show what I can do like many of you.

I am parked at the receiver in Indy and sitting next to a 2014 Freightliner Evolution--not a GTI. It's a FINE machine and makes my Columbia look even smaller than it is. I wouldn't mind driving one; the driver says he has had it since April and just loves it.

As with any merger, there will changes, some anticipated, others not so. But starting on the right foot is a good sign. Neither company is financially stressed, so there is no unusual pressure there -- that makes a huge difference.

It was the "second-story walkup" option you read about. What's that, you say? Missed it? Oh, well. Next time. :biggrin_2553:

Ok Here we are just outside Tulsa Ok. Have to go about 40 miles in the morning then do a drop and hook. It has been kinda slow for me the last few days. Prolly because of the hollidays. Hope to see it pick up soon. I here the new evolutions are the same inside as the 12 and the 13 models.

I have to say its nice going to bed and not have to worry about the batteries going dead or the truck not starting.

Ft Bridger WY tonight. A little Slush on the ground.

Skating toward Reno in the a.m.

SLC should be even more "interesting" as always with the added enhancement of snow...
