They have opened up most of their yards to us now... directions are available at gti terminals along with procedures to follow when arriving.
Looking forward to the truck wash....

My spidey senses tell me some big changes are about to take place in the next week or two.

    Good or bad ?

Depends on how we interpret them.

I want some runs south .... would like to see some new scenery....

At the moment I would be happy with just moving again....finally in a truck here in Sikeston,MO but nothing going to happen until I get with my DM tomorrow.....haven't done a paid mile now since leaving my truck at Pontoon for service.

Not sure I am altogether thrilled about going into the Heartland terminals. I just don't want to spend 6 hours or so (and this I have heard from many HTLD drivers) waiting for an inspection. Maintenance is a bit of a sore point with me at the moment!!!!

The first major P.M. on the Columbia I was assigned was down for about a week @ the pacific yard. They tossed me into Million mile Columbia that broke down on the way back from Spokane (was supposed to be a day trip ended up being 3 days). They towed a different loaner to me. Finished the run back to pacific then whet out in the second loaner for a couple of short runs.

Pacific @ that time sent allmost all the tractor work to VFL across the ally. I made sure to never take a tractor to Pacific for service again when the air drier blew out in the Lathrop Yard while doing a drop and hook 2 weeks later. That old beastie ran great after Lathrop was done with it.

Main thing I learned with p.m.s is to know when it is due and schedule it @ the shop of your choice with a QC Macro. Then keep reminding the D.M. you are scheduled for service @ that location @ that time.

Also be very leery of the loaner trucks. (twitch, twitch, shudder). Running away from the loaner truck rant now......

Many corporate type places are marginally open from Solstice to a couple of days past new years.

Some places keep their non perishable warehouses locked down for Physical Inventory for the first couple of days of the year also.

The Accountants also have to tell the executives how much the purchasing Department can spend before any more Purchase orders are written.

So it is a slow restart but stuff should start moving soon.

One reason I like refer side: Subway wants their lettuce in the mid-west and California needs their chicken nuggets all year long.

The loaner truck I currently have actually has less miles on it than my regular truck (227k as opposed to 305k) - however I have gotten used to my regular truck. But one thing I have definitely learned from this whole debacle is from here on out I will NOT be getting services done while I am at home. At least if I am out on the road it is more likely to light a fire under their butts to get things moving. Problem was that the little sticker they put on blew away at some point and I didn't know when it was due and things being what they are drove it from my mind until I got back to PB just before Christmas. Currently sitting in Matthews,MO awaiting some kind of a response out of my DM currently and see where we go from there!
