Delivering tonight in greensboro,nc then pick up tomorrow for a delivery in canton,oh saturday.

Will end up with 2k for the week after leaving the house monday. All things considered not too ugly for the holidays.

This is the first time in 12 years that i have worked over new years. Won't do that again. I started my vacation early this year due to a doctors appointment and decided to come back out.
Next year i will take more vacation if i need to.

Comment on inspection lines taking too long:

In my opinion the company should not be blamed for this issue. Instead, if the drivers were doing their job ,ie, pretrip and post trip inspections and having repairs made then there would be no need for these lines.

Gordon never had them until we started having serious maintenance issues with trailers. There was one month that i had 17 trailers that i had to have repaired. We are still having these issues and i know it is not because gti wont fix equipment.
They always fix everything i write up.

I went up to a gordon truck at a truck stop to talk to a driver who had a truck i used to have. As i approached his truck i could see his driver side steer tire was bald from midway of the tire out. When i asked him if he was going to get that fixed he had no idea what i was talking about. Now do you think this was a driver who had ever pretripped a trailer.

He'll find out what you were talking about if he has a steer blowout. And if he "misses" that, what about the little things that aren't quite as visible? But hey. It's uncomfortable to roll out of a warm sleeper berth and get into the cold outside to do a pretrip inspection. Besides, there wasn't anything wrong when I pulled in last night; what could possibly happen overnight?

You would think his truck would be juddering all over the place,no? I had a problem with a steer tire at my previous company and I felt like my skin was becoming detached from my body. I can understand waking up to a flat steer tire (that happened to me in Ontario,OR back in the summer) but baldness??? It really takes no more than a cursory look even to see that....pure idiocy and it puts himself and others in danger if it blows out on the highway.

Sitting here in Pontoon Beach now...feels good to finally drive,if only even for 3 hours! Now all I need to do is make some money!!!!!

I got up one morning after spending the night in a petro. When I got to the back of my trailer someone had stolen all 4 of my lights including the rubber mounts...

I was supposed to run down 90-82-84-80 but I had them switch it to 90-25. The roads weren't half as bad and made better time.

That looks like a pretty good road to me. Specially there is only one 4 wheeler in the picture. I just went to Alaska over Christmas and New Years and that is all I see up there. It is about 4000 to 4500 miles like that, but than you only have 7 hours of daylight as well. I should save my dash cam footage from the trip once and let somebody make a short little movie. There are parts in the Yukon and Northern B.C. that remind me of the Magic Mountain Disney ride . It is dark, lots of grades and turns the only problem is you are not attached to tracks.

When you see the "Extreme Grades" sign you better stop at the brake check.:yes2557: Taylor hill for example starts out at a 8% and than goes into a 10% with a sharp right turn at the bottom to get onto a steel grate bridge deck. There are some 11% and 12% as well.
