Still here in Pontoon Beach.....under a load but doesn't pick until 1600 and delivers tomorrow at 1200 in Republic,MO then a pplan picks up tomorrow in Carthage,MO to University Park,IL for Monday.....

My truck is STILL at Cummins ....they have had this thing for more a week now, or though technically for 3 days as of course they don't work Saturdays or holidays....even so, 3 days and they STILL haven't managed to troubleshoot it yet??? Remarkable really.

We all know that would have never happened with a Bedford or British Leyland. :biggrin_25522::biggrin_25525:

The first truck I had issued to me lost the clutch. It took the local Freightliner dealer 2 WEEKS to replace it. I told the shop manager he should have just ordered the parts and done it themselves. But I did get a replacement truck with wipers that worked...just before big rain started...so that was a good thing.

But I'm no longer there and will soon enough be worrying whether GTI fixes my broken truck soon...

Try it in summer. All you will see is one very long line of large RV's, many from warm places like Florida and Arizona, supplemented with road crew trucks. I've made that trip in both directions twice; I much preferred it when it was a well-designed gravel road in winter. Paving roads like that in that part of the world, especially in winter, is a really bad idea.

A driver colleague of mine was complaining about the "long winter" we were having a couple of weeks ago during the ice storms. I reminded him that he's in Michigan, where "winter" doesn't arrive unti mid-January. And then there's February...

    How quickly we humanoids forget.

They wouldn't have even known what troubleshoot was....unless of course it involved 4 tea breaks a shop floor meeting and a general walk out for more pay for troubleshooters....

So we have finally decided (kind of) that in all likelihood I am going to keep this truck I am in now. Got at least some essential supplies from my truck at Cummins the other night and the poor thing looks so forlorn.....

So we finally get some decent miles headed my way?? Kind of in a not so kind of way!!! Head to Hershey's Edwardsville Bobtail only to be told they need a trailer....another day wasted! Finally get my load picked up,deliver it...pick up my next load to University Park,IL only to sit here in St Robert,MO to wait out the snow storm!!!
