If all your getting is mileage pay your going to die poor and disappointed. I'm not getting rich but January has been a decent month. It helps when you get paid for EVERY stop and some honest detention pay. Heartland doesn't pay hardly any accessorial pay as far as I know. Probably why my avgerage cpm is .10 higher than the high pay they constantly advertise.

Without rewriting everything I just put on my own thread, I will say I am not pleased with my first dispatch day. And my daughter and grandson were attacked by a ragged old dog. Fortunately, they got a dog this week and there was some protection going on! Except for some road rash when the attacking dog knocked the stroller over, my grandson and daughter are fine.
but I'm going to bed now, without the bunk heater; I'm a wee bit low on fuel thanks to a 6.2 fuel economy (at a governed speed of 60, mind you) and pretty dumb routing that added 100+ miles to the trip. That sucks.Last edited: Jan 19, 2014

After receiving a glowing endorsement from greyhound I decide to spend the night at the pilot in benton harbor, mi.
I know... I know.....
so after being parked for all of 5 minutes a pickup pulls in front of me and starts flashing his lights.
then a young hispanic male gets out and approaches my truck and asks me if I speak english... I then demonstrate a small portion of my vocabulary.
then he has the nerve to ask if I could help he and his friend get to chicago.
my face lights up with glee as I love to help out strangers in need.
I tell him ... yes.... it's that way.... and point towards chicago...
another good deed done.... I feel really good about myself. :smt077joseph1135, DenaliDad, double yellow and 2 others Thank this. -

Made it a little short of my goal of Evanston, WY. Sitting in Ogden, UT for my ten, got one of the last spots only because CRE can't blindside. Lol. Don't have to be in Oklahoma till Tuesday. Then off to Arkansas. Running off the back 8, I have to depend on night driving to be able to pick up hours here and there. Luckily my log is on eastern time so it gives me a little wiggle room. So blah blah blah. Tow it's good to see you doing good for the world, lol. Today's motivation: classic Iron Maiden. Later today Rush is gonna rock the smurf.

While I sit in the dock at Sam's Club DC in Brownstone Township, Michigan, waiting for them to finish the unload, I'll comment about Tow's experience at the Pilot...
Quite normal. You're welcome.
Fortunately for you, the car wasn't also attached to the two, um, "ladies" of the night that frequent the place.
For me, there's nothing quite like being rudely awakened out of sound sleep (I was on an eight) by a Michigan State Trooper flashing her reds and blues and banging on my door, asking why my truck was parked the way it was in the rest area. Well, lady, it's because I was THE ONLY VEHICLE OF ANY KIND THERE and the 3" of snow are obscuring the lines and markers. So will there be anything else? No? Thank you and goodnight. And no. I didn't change to on duty for that interruption, but it put an end to my sleep, that's for sure.
Michigan is a wonderful place. That's why I want to move.Last edited: Jan 19, 2014

OK as I stated in an earlier post I have made some GPS POI files for GTI/Heartland Terminals and drop yards...I have created them in OV2 (TomTom) format, GPX Format and CSV (which i believe is the most common and you can load onto the Rand McNally Truck GPS). The files are miniscule and will take just seconds to download. As far as how to put them on your GPS I have no clue, depends on what you have I suppose!!
OK... DISCLAIMER: I make no guarantees as to the accuracy or current status of these locations, also GPS's are used as a guide, not a definitive guarantee of a legal route for a truck. Always follow posted local regulations.
That being said here are the links..

Hope these are of some use! -
