I have a new adventure. The flu. Yeah me. We will see about how they feel about not making this load. At this point I'm unsafe and fatigued. Let's see what happens.

All the best to you tow. I hope all goes well at the new company. If not you were looking for a job when you found that one. The following made me laugh and I almost spit my drink out.:biggrin_2559: :biggrin_25514:

Hope you get over the flu shortly Joseph. It does suck to be sick and on the road.

Glad everything came together for the transition Tow.

Been a bit of a challenge for me today. Had the software updated on the new truck during home time to take care of a check engine light. Truck now does not recognize half the switches on the dash including the regen switch. Had to get towed to L.A. from Barstow will most likely be down all weekend til I can get the software updated. The joys of being an owner op.

This is good advice. You have to know who you work for. I knew this coming in, which is why my thread has "post-buyout" in the title. My situation is different from most; as a federal retiree, I have a second income and am doing this as a 'bucket list' item. I do have to say that the past two weeks have been tough for me, but not because of Gordon. I have two VERY ill grandchildren in Lawton, OK; being on the road and not there is tough.

I hope your new chapter is everything you want and only a few things you don't want...and I hope you never see I80/90 again if you don't want to! I didn't sign up for Midwest regional, either, and I hope things change when I'm off the Orientation Fleet.

You're ill. You cannot be held responsible for insane remarks. Just remember that. :biggrin_2556:

I'm in a very similar situation as a retiree from a city in California. I am going to Dallas tomorrow to go to Heartlands orientation for a position on their Texas Salaried Fleet. I still want to work but like having my weekends off and not be a true OTR driver any more. If they totally lied to me then I will be retired again real soon. :)
