This is not a commercial for discover card but I have to give credit where credit is due..
while living on the road I only use my discover card for all purchases then pay it off at the end of the month..I get a lot of cash back rewards.. the one thing I liked was their fraud protection where I am not responsible for any charges if my number gets stolen.
I was able to set a predetermined limit per transaction so if a purchase was attempted over that amount it would not be cleared until I answered a text message sent to my phone. This was a little annoying at times but I dealt with it.
yesterday my phone started blowing up with text messages from discover wanting to know if I was making some purchases totaling over $8000.00 .. I immediately responded NO...and called the fraud department when prompted..
someone had hacked my card number somehow and were caught immediately due to the safeguards and I am liable for nothing. . Discover is handling everything...
just a thought while we travel out here.. dont use a debit card.. had that been my debit card they could have wiped my checking account out and it would have taken forever to get my money back if at all..

I'm sitting in Rancho yet. Went in for a "short service" and of course they find 973 things wrong with the truck (as if I didn't say most of it every other time the trucks been in) so maybe I'll be out before lunch. Right now I'm going to have breakfast at the Tolehouse so here's to hoping I can be back on the road today.

Okay, experienced GTI and soon-not-to-be GTI drivers, two questions:
1. At what odometer reading should I start wondering if mine is going to be replaced? I've heard various numbers starting at 250,000, which I'm past, so I doubt it's that low.
2. Can someone post a photo or two of where your satellite radio antenna is attached on a Cascadia?
Joseph said he would show me, but my guess is the chances of us meeting are slim at best, what with me here in the balmy Midwest and him, well, not. -

either that or sell it before 800,000 because that is when you should start performing MAJOR rebuilds.
