My new adventure with Gordon Trucking

You might want to check out May Trucking they run a lot of places that GTI does and in my paper Colorado Springs they are offering 5k bonus. Not sure how good they are or not.

They are as bad as Heartland.... there is a reason companies give huge sign on bonuses...they know they suck. Its like cheese on a mouse trap.

 

Gerdin's Dream--A Fictionalized, Speculative Parody of a Possible Executive Dream that NEVER HAPPENED and NEVER WILL...

Mike Gerdin, HTLD CEO and Chairman of the Board, rolled over, opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling...

"Ugh! Bad dream!" Blurted Mike and inadvertently woke his wife.

"What is it, Mikey?" asked his pretty, still half-awake wife.

"Just a dream, Sweetheart. Just a dream. Go back to sleep."

"No, Mikey! Tell! ... Tell me!" insisted Gerdin's wife and poked him in the ribs.

At first Gerdin couldn't remember the dream and when he did, he only remembered the last segment--there were three segments all told. Then, he started to remember...

"Oh, gee, Honey, I was on my hands and knees, furiously begging and pleading two drivers to come back to work for us," said Gerdin, a little incredulous at the scene himself.

"Drivers?? Steering wheel holders?? You, the CEO and Chairman, are on your hands and knees to a couple steering wheel holders?? To come back to work??" pestered his wife in mocking disbelief.

"Yes, Dear," admitted Gerdin.

"Mikey, you better only be on your hands and knees begging and pleading," cooed Gerdin's wife, "to me and not to a couple of your many, many, many, many... why, thousands and thousands of steering wheel holders!!"

"Yes, Dear," sighed Gerdin, and rolled over and shut his eyes again...

I think he needs to start a new thread......

A WANNABE'S LAME ATTEMPT TO BECOME RELEVANT....

However... I do believe it would be best to ignore it and perhaps it will go away

I am sure it's lonely out there with the chickens, pigs, goats and sheep...that is if they do exist...

Totally agree that was about the most stupidest thing I have read on this site. read through it waiting for a punch line that never came.

 

At least he knows his grammar. Could be the next Stephen King!

Part Two--Gerdin's Real Nightmare

It was a nice try, that 'Leave me alone, I'm going back to sleep' move but had no chance, zippo, in fact. Gerdin's wife, once dialed-in was relentless. Not only that, she was such a 'Plan A' person that he had to be careful about accidentally 'dialing-her-in' on anything, like favorite pizza.

If he got her all hooked up for their favorite pizza joint, for example, he better have called first and made sure that 1) the place was actually going to be open, and 2) had her favorite ingredients, thin crust and the right wine. And not that she's a complainer, she's not; but disappointed with a capital 'D' was always a possibility. Don't even think 'Plan B' will ever make up. Uh-huh!

Now, she was dialed-in on this darn dream. Even worse, her remark about 'thousands and thousands of steering wheel holders' for the briefest fraction of a second pushed that first dream segment (there were three, remember?) a little closer to Big Mike's consciousness. If that ever happened, if it broke through, the HTLD CEO and Chairman would likely have such a panic attack that it would leave him curled in a fetal ball in bed beside her.

Better not go there!

So she was poking him in the ribs again. "Mikey, don't you even think about going back to sleep without telling me more!"

"More what?" Gerdin asked, feigning and still half-hoping to avoid her.

"Mike!!" she said sharply. Oh, well, he thought. No need let this escalate to 'Michael'...

"Okay, okay. These are a couple of Gordon's drivers that we let sit until they moved on," Gerdin said, quickly getting to the point.

"So you actually know these guys in your dream?? A couple drivers that we forced out?? Why're you on your hands and knees all pleading and begging, Mikey?? I mean, if these guys were pretty lousy drivers... "

Ugh! This wasn't going well. Gerdin would have to explain that the GordonDuo, as some at HTLD called them, had actually been two of Gordon's best!

Only in the eyes of the couple of drivers. Meanwhile, Miley's wife goes clothes shopping all day and couldn't care less.
