Hey does GTI look at raising pay for drivers?
Do they have a problem with running toll roads?

I have to say if your looking at getting back into OTR then you have to look at the overall package that any company will offer. There are companies in my area they are smaller that offer less pay and Ins. then some of the megas like GTI does. Then there is one that is a lot less pay like 33 CPM that has no copay for ins. All ins. is covered 100 % by the company and its BCBS.
Just saying look at the full package. Like what kind of Eqp. is it New or old? Does it have a APU or inverter?
Is it maintained well?
What area will I be running?
Are you gonna be running legal?
E logs or paper?
Is it Drop and Hook or live load and unload? Do they pay dentition? Is it driver touch or unload? like some of the furniture loads and water heater loads are.
Layover and breakdown pay?
Tolls paid or do you run all back roads?
How are you treated as a driver there like crap or do they seem to care for there people. What are the terminals like?
I see some companies that will hire you in less than a day, ( I would stay away form them) and others that want to take a good look at you.
Its all things you need to figure out for yourself.
So many question to ask and a lot of info to gather. Some you might want to give up for something else being better. It a lot of info to go thu and best of luck in what ever company you chose.Pawoodsman Thanks this. -
Prepass/Ezpass pays all toll except Kansas and Oklahoma .. since you live in Pa. they will only hire you for the reefer board due to being able to get you home with hershey loads. Joseph has been on that board from the start and is doing well. He is best suited to inform you about that. He usually is sleeping during the day and will get with you this evening ..

8 years out of the truck is a long time. You may have to go through training all over again, that's just being straight honest with you. If you were to be hired though, Gordon is a real good company that keeps you busy. Especially reefer/TC fleet. Not sure what you'll start at, I started way up there because of reefer and experience. I have ezpass for tolls, and they let you run the toll roads. Trucks are stellar, very well equipped and comfortable. Safety is paramount here. You are treated with respect at GTI. Good luck with coming back to trucking, and be safe.

Does GTI still have their 65MPH speed limit?
They threatened us with disciplinary action if we broke 65. That was a major stress point with me while I was with them.
P.S. had the cruise set @ 75 across the salt flats area of I80 today. -

67 - 70 is overspeed violation and over 71 is excessive speed violation . I get yelled at once a year for it..lol .. my reply is "overspeed in a 62 mph truck.. really .. " .. never heard of anything else except for the guy who got fired for putting it in neutral and coasting downhill.. qualcomm will tell on you for that.

Years ago we did it all the time. Georgia Overdrive. Run it up as far as your gears/engine/rear end would take you on the downgrade side of a big hill where you can see clear the road rise up the next hill. Then let it go.
