tow, we had a recent conversation about adjusting brakes. More thorough discussion occurred on another thread and KW Cajun took your position, followed up with some great links and I'm moving over to your view. Won't give up my 7/16 socket but will add hard pumping on brake to my pre-trip, measuring stroke and wrench as a final resort or to make sure the pawls aren't so worn they no longer click or to help get to repair.

I've posted info on 'Culture' (see: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...culture-one-drivers-experience-gordon-34.html), source thread was 'Adjusting Brakes' (See: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...-truckers-advice/229971-adjusting-brakes.html). Very lively discussion, but KW rather won me over. Never had a problem with Gordon brakes, either. Even had a former Buske mechanic at Pontoon exasperatedly comment that Gordon throws away brake parts other companies would happily run on and replaces all new. He had a pile of parts, drums, shoes with meat on them right there heading for the bin.

/If you haven't already passed through Grande Vista, Central Arizona College (CAC) has a heavy equipment operator/heavy equipment mechanic program there, includes obtaining CDL. Mechanics have to learn some operation, operators have to learn some mechanics and you can learn both. Two-year program to come out of class with nationally-recognized certificate and leads to $50K job right out of school. Plus CDL. Very inexpensive for AZ resident.

Petro there had one of best Iron Skillets (especially sea food Friday) and Golden Corral had a big discount on breakfast... Um-m-m-m. Motel 6 has plenty of parking. (And allows my critters. Well, probably not the chickens. They're not travelling. Too much poop.)

Yeah, and all that fluttering and clucking in the truck would be a big distraction. Plus eggs. Messy.

I brought them in tonight because it's wet, windy, dark and tornado watches. So they're back in my shower for the night. Have to get that coop built. Have one wall framed up, the outer wall of the front porch half-ready and most of the lumber I need. When I brought them here from where I bought them, they rode in a dog crate... and if they ride anywhere, that's their ticket. It was so wet, though, when I got home that I didn't put the dogs out on the back porch or anything. Just got the girls one-by-one and brought them in and through to the shower, right past the dogs, and neither dogs nor chickens gave the other second notice. Very cool.

/Electricity went out about ten ago, so I wrote that in the dark. Blustery evening.

I hate Walmart. More than usual tonight do I hate hate Walmart. The DC, stores, attitude, business conduct, but tonight I'll concentrate on the mouth breeders down in Clarksville. So, last night, I needed to run around and check tires in OK. Pulled into a fuel island in OK, and somehow twisted my back all out of shape. Hurt like hell, still hurts to the point I can really move, but made the delivery anyway. Get to the gate and the ignorant redneck there wouldn't look at me for ten minutes while I struggled to stay standing. Same deal backing in dolly down, unhook etc. walk back to receiving and the Mr Shruken Head was pretty much the same way. I swear to Christ in order to work at Walmart you need an iq less than a rock's and the demeanor of said rock. Stupid people. I hate Walmart. But, got that delivered and I am pulling another one, DH to Carthage, MO to Somewhere in North Illinois for around 3600 for the week.
