Any way I look at it I am looking at making less money..
With that being said I am looking at companies with better hometime.. I can handle making less if I am home every week..
Knights 7 on 7 off or 14 on 7 off is looking good right now...

I love Gordon. It's the best company I've ever worked for. This morning I was confident in my ability to make money here. That changed this afternoon. Not because of a buyout. These things happen. But because I know the history of Heartland.
truckinmike1984 and tow614 Thank this. -
I was with Gordon for little over 1.5 years, in fact I left there 3 weeks ago. I had a feeling something was going on, seemed like my miles were going down the last 2 to 3 months, but I kept on chugging along until I had enough. After checking around with other companies, I had made the decision to go back to Gordon, now this throws a real kink into my decision. All I see is not so good things about Heartland, great pay, no miles, home-time is non existent or at least a fight. Now have to rethink options.

Folks, keep in mind that the lateral move from mega to mega is a losing hand.
Take time to think this through.
The sky isn't falling just yet.The Challenger Thanks this. -
As Vic said you should have some time.
Do not do anything drastic. Think things through.
Consult with the folks close to you and figure out a good step for you. -
Heartland is a regional carrier. I read somewhere their average length of haul is 400 or so miles.

I dont know where you live Tow, but Interstate has a 6 out 3 home program on their reefer fleet, I was giving that a hard look a while ago. And if you are near Olympia, WA JB hunt has a 5 out 2 home dedicated account (they just got it) delivering mattresses.
tow614 Thanks this. -
Emphasis on "yet"..
I want to believe for good things..
But as I told you victor I am a poker player not a gambler.. I read the players and the situations..
You got to know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
Know ... you know the rest. ...lol -
I live in Tennessee. . I worked for interstate in 2003..
I imagine they are laughing their butts off right now...
The fm that was released at indy is now a terminal manager at interstate. . -
I read the press release they put out, it looks like the Gordon family cant fully cash out the stock in Homeland they are getting until 2015, so that would leave me to believe that while big changes will happen, they wont happen overnight.
AKA: put a frog in a pot of boiling water; the frog jumps out and lives. Put the same frog in a pot of cold water, then heat it to boiling, and the frog dies. So dont be a frog lol, watch the temp of the water you are in!The Challenger, tow614 and GreyHound Thank this.
