2017, CougFan. They get $110 million now. Cash. $40 million in stock.
And a lot less headaches. -
In 1994 I was hired to be a division manager of a factory in Tennessee. .
Shortly after taking the job the owner sold the company.. half cash half stock to be paid in 5 years..
The owner stayed for the 5 years until he got paid but never gave a flip about the company afterwards.
After he got paid the new owners came in and found the company in disarray. . They closed my division and I was out of work. -
No blu.. I dont know all the cards..
Didn't see this coming...
But at this point I am not very optimistic to say the least...
My motto is .. expect the worst.. you will never be disappointed. .truckinmike1984 Thanks this. -
It made me change my mind about GTI. Major corporate shift like this is not good for stability, no matter what they say.
truckinmike1984, CougFan and tow614 Thank this. -

I'm depressed. Seriously. I've waited so long to come to GTI. I wanted to work here. I've got 7 months into a company I wanted to work for since I learned of their existence in 2003. They were not a east coast carrier, but I stumbled on their website then. In 2012, they finally started hiring in PA and I jumped at the chance. My hopes are the culture of GTI will not change drastically. But I'm reminded of MS Carriers, Harold Ives And Caretta Trucking out of New Jersey. These companies had reputations of being the best of the best to work for. Gordon Trucking was another one of them. One of the absolute best of all time. I'm saddened at what may happen to GTI. From the top shelf equipment, to the terminals that are welcoming to the absolute best planners in the industry, in my opinion anyway. I can hope that the culture of this company will not change. But I will wait and see.
truckinmike1984, drvrtech77, DenaliDad and 3 others Thank this. -
Just occured to me, did Gordon sell off the Valley Freightliner dealerships as well? I know they own both, but did not see any mention of them. I thought that was one of the things Gordon did to keep maintence and repair costs down, at least in WA state.
-
There's 3 of them, Pacific, Mt Vernon and another in WA somewhere.
