I met Dan last week, GTI driver who was the driver of the year in North America this last year, and many others. The more we talked the more we had in common. I also met Tim, a GTI owner operator, and also met an awesome driver trainer. I wasn't with him, but Mike Gerdin visited Pacific, Lathrop, Rancho, Phoenix, Pontoon Beach last week and introduced himself to as many drivers as he possibly could and answer their questions. He will be visiting more terminals next week. One change that may come soon is that all of Heartlands drop yards and terminals may become available to Gordon drivers to use. As I know more I will share it.

Now you see.. that is useful information...

If you really want to get off on a good start invite all gti drivers to stop by a heartland terminal for a free truck wash.

That was the only bad thing here at gti.. those tight azzez would not pay for truck washes..

    See .. an olive branch

Well, lets see what happens. Nobody get crazy, fingers crossed, balls too. Lets go do what we do. Mike Gerdin spoke of looking at our files and knowing what GTI had and what he could have. Tow, myself, and every other GTI driver are here to make money. Mr Gerdin, or Heartofatrucker, or whoever you are, we are not trying to sully the name of Heartland Express. Former drivers of yours have already done that. We are here to make money. And we do make some money. We chain up our trucks to get over mountains, drive through some of the most treacherous conditions this country has to offer, deal with the insane CHP and OSP, and do it safely. Keep that in mind. Driving in the Midwest or the south is a hell of a lot easier than winter in the NW. GTI's safety record is a testament to some of the best in the industry. Atlanta or Jacksonville or Columbus got nothing on the mountain passes of the west. The drivers who run the Northeast and New England and Colorado and the Northwest are some of the safest and best drivers in this industry. I'm proud to be among both groups. Learned to drive in NYC and Boston and the rest of the Northeast and perfected it in the Northwest. We also proved that yes, you can do 4000 miles a week safe and legal within the constraints of the elog system. We are ###### good drivers here at GTI. Show us what you got. You guys are about to get a lesson in real trucking out here. Welcome to the West. This is where the big boys come to play. Chains? Yup. We throw them. Snow? Lots. Shut down? Only when the DOT forces it. And looking at our numbers, we do it safe too.

Let me tell you this about Indy. There was, it seemed, almost always something to eat in the office around lunch time. I even got called on it. That I showed up when they had food out. But I was always welcome and despite 2000 drivers, knew me by name, not truck number when I walked in the door.

If HTLD decided, okay, let's do lunch. If a Gordon driver is within x miles, we bring him over for whatever's set out that day. A little hospitality. It amazed me how easily Gordon would let go of the very large investment it had even in relatively new drivers. I take it HTLD is even worse at driver retention (conference call, remember?). A little hospitality to protect a large investment... and a chance for a Gordon driver to meet a few HTLD drivers.

/Ha-ha. I can tell joseph's lips are moving but all I see above and below is the blue block out of the ignore list!!! What a fricking improvement!!

//Can you imagine the filter doesn't catch fracking. Or whatever I said above and don't want to repeat??
