Your hubbys friend went back to Swift; is he aware they now have driver facing cameras and can monitor noises in the trucks such as voices on the phone and conversations?

 

Do you think the ins. companies will force all carriers to go to the driver facing cameras?

 

Hard to guess that one. Wouldn't surprise me though. Prosecuters probably love them because that's how they figured out what happened when that driver ran over and killed a state trooper in NM or AZ. Driver facing camera showed him playing with his phone, then when they checked his phone discovered he was watching porn.
Trucking companies like cameras because it puts an end to drivers saying someone hit them in a truckstop while they were inside, when they damaged the truck themselves.

 

The problem with cameras is that the companies will now be providing evidence to the prosecutors.
Even if the driver is doing something he shouldnt it does not relieve the company of any responsibility. After all they hired him.

should companies start losing a significant number of drivers due to dash cams they will stop.

 

I could only wish that someone would listen to my conversations.....

I think even Hustler would shy away from my conversations, lol.
