Well, after developing a one-on-one personal relationship with Deputy Sal of the Kent County Sherrif's Office, I arranged for a local lawn care company to mow every 2 weeks, so I shouldn't hear from my "concerned" neighbors.
And I know the one who is 'concerned'...

Seems like we all have one of those. My neighbor lady called the cops on me a while back when my tractor was parked in front of the house along the red curb. It's a private road so he just stopped in talked to me and he was on his merry way. I guess she was not impressed with that and she wrote to the board of the home owners association. They have the letter, but did not even send it on to me. I guess it helps to be well liked by all the other older single ladies as long as I don't have to repay the favor in sexual favors.

That's actually illegal under federal law
-
I don't think it's illegal because the drivers are made aware of it in orientation. They agree to work there, but I certainly wouldn't.tow614 Thanks this.

I would think you could expect a certain degree of privacy while driving down the road in an enclosed vehicle. Will be an interesting lawsuit once one is filed some day.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
There is no legal expectation of privacy when using a company-provided asset, as long as they divulge that to the employee. That has long been shown to be valid in courts. Whether it makes good sense or not, well, that's a different issue.Last edited: Aug 15, 2015

I'm sitting in a Pilot that is significant to me and I didn't even realize this was the one when I picked it before starting out this morning.
About two rows behind me, in the exact spot currently occupied - weirdly enough, for reasons that will be clear soon enough - by a Heartland truck, was where I had parked my truck when I was working for a regional carrier 4 years ago. I had become a bit bored with going to/from the same places every week and I was checking out the landscape, so to speak. I wanted a condo and, as now, a truck with an APU.
About three spots down, there in all its glorious, muted blueness, sat a Gordon truck. I knew nothing about the company but I was attracted to the color and the APU hanging on its side, so I walked down and chatted with the driver for a bit.
Later that day, I gave their recruiting office a call and the rest is history.Last edited: Aug 15, 2015
