Let us know if they return the favor by keeping you busy.....or if they screw the hell out of you for the next 3 weeks.
Experiences in this industry support the latter.
Good luck.

Off to bigger, and better?

Kieth is my dispatcher.
Yes I am off to bigger and maybe better things. And when the time comes in February I might be posting it here on the forum. It would be a very helpful experience for a lot of drivers but honestly I don't know if I want to deal with all the negative comments my new thread would induce. It's a bombshell so to speak so I'm sure it will draw a lot of fire. I'm undecided but I will let you guy's know one way or the other. I was a Moderator here for some time so I've always liked to give others a heads up to try to help them. We shall see.Swedish Chef, Crusader66 and Lonesome Thank this. -
I've had some problems to with beacon. And yes they only have that one guy Chris who works sat and Sunday dispatch. And yes it literally takes an act of Congress to get him to even answer the phone or qualcomm. I've been with beacon 6 months now and have only been dispatched on a sat. Maybe twice but that's because there was a regular dispatcher there

While bare POS Volvo trucks and lots of little things suck, The worst thing about Beacon by far is no weekend dispatch. Most of the miles for the trips are good. Usually 800 +. Butt the drawback is if you deliver after 5 o'clock on Friday there's a very good chance you are going to be sitting until Monday and sometimes Tuesday. They do have a guy who comes in from 8 to 10 on Saturday morning but unless you're lucky enough to be sitting at one of our big customers the chances of you getting a load on Saturday is very slim. You will get your miles Monday through Friday or you will not get them at all. Now take into consideration that Beacon wants their drivers to stay out 2 weeks at a time. The problem is you're sitting on most weekends with no load. They are a Monday through Friday company. Yet they do not want their drivers going home every weekend. We don't have a #### thing for you to do but please sit in your truck for 3 days until we return to work. Think you're going to call your dispatcher if you have a problem or a question? You better think again! They absolutely hate phone calls. They will not answer. You will leave a message then they will be mad because you left a message. You will receive a message on your Qualcomm almost everyday to not tie up the phone lines calling into dispatch. You are expected to communicate through your Qualcomm only. Good luck waiting on your reply. The people in the office are the only important people at Beacon. The company is designed to serve the people in the office not the driver. And this kind of attitude emanates from the very top.

Things went to Hell in a handbasket for you quick!! Sorry to hear. One more reason I'm thinking of just getting a normal 9 to 5 job.
Crusader66 Thanks this.
