The only stupid questions are the ones that are not asked. Here is a picture of what I woke up to that morning. This was my first clue I was not going anywhere anytime soon.

After that I just watched the state DOT website and listened to the local radio and CB radio. I heard a bunch of experienced guys saying if you can stayed parked, then stay parked. I had researched the weather before going out to Iowa so I knew this was coming. I just did not have enough time after getting unloaded to get out of Iowa before the snow storm hit.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I plan on being back out on the road in a couple of weeks. My 4 years of experiance is from the early 80s. I never did drive in snow or ice back then. So, all those weather conditions will be new to me. BTW, thanks for documenting your progression through school and Superior. You have no idea how much it has helped me, and i'm sure many others. I have thanked rob as well. Be careful out there!

Been running back and forth from Kentucky to Atlanta on a dedicated account for the last two weeks so nothing real exciting to report. Pretty gravy run. Live load at the customer in Kentucky then get unloaded by customer in Atlanta. All I have to do is open the dome lid and they do the rest. Not a bad little gig. Wish it was a little more miles but other than that, an easy run.

Suppose to be in Chattanooga TN at 9:30 tomorrow morning with a load going to Augusta GA for Tuesday morning delivery. Should be headed out Wednesday with a dedicated load going to Lafayette Indiana Wednesday for Thursday. Keeping my fingers crossed that load does not get bumped again.

I think I may start reporting my week/monthly income and mileage totals on a separate thread so anyone interested in Superior can see what roughly what kind of income they can expect to make here. Opinions?

Sounds good. Every terminal is different and I always wonder if my experience is different from others.

Shout out to Wysrob and Ducky ...

It's been a loooooonnnnngggggg week -- I've been getting Brian ready.

Put him on a :Liner: to PA this morning -- he starts 2-1/2 days of orientation with Smith tomorrow morning :) We are VERY excited (and ONE of us is VERY exhausted) !!!

He has been given a dedicated New England run, which they pay the most for. It's either .44 or .45 cpm, can't remember right offhand.

Brian will get his :Trailer: and first run Wednesday. Of course he has requested a Pete, but could end up with an F-liner. They're going to run him OTR through the week and have him home most if not all weekends. They'll schedule his return runs through or near our area of Connecticut so he can drive the rig home.

I pray it works out, and that he is very happy :)

I am still around. Seems like forever since I have been on here. Kind of been playing the role of a floater here lately (which is not a bad thing). Been doing some system runs, dedicated, and local. Week of 2/18-2/22 I can't remember what I did the first part of the week on Monday but I do know I went on a dedicated run the middle of the week then a system run at the end of the week. All the days seem to run together when you are out!

Week of 2/25-3/1 I worked local on Monday, went on a dedicated run Tues/Wed to Indiana and worked local again Thursday and Friday. Have the weekend off which is pretty much the norm for me.

Still loving it and still think this is the best company to work for in my opinion. Be safe out there everyone.

Here is a couple of pictures from a week ago at a place I went to down near Mobile AL. Great people to deal with. Easy unload. Used their air and one of my 2" hoses.

I need to get me some of those nice shiny orange hose straps. Mine are about the same color as the hoses.

I don't know where the time goes. I guess it fly's when you are having fun...haha! Still doing a variety of loads since the dedicated loads have not picked up full steam yet. I guess one of the plants we deliver to don't have the orders they typically have this time of year.

Seems like I have been going hard at it for a while so I decided to take some time off. Took off four days, Sat.-Tues. (which is almost over now) for my sons spring break. Enjoying the down time. I needed it.

Ran into a crazy situation the other night before going on my time off. Took an empty trailer up to Cleveland TN for an 20:00 load time. Dropped it early in the afternoon around 13:00 and told the guy I was going to take my break and would come back and pick it up later that night after it was loaded. He did not bother to tell me they were closing early and would not be open Friday for Good Friday holiday.

My break was up at 23:00 so I went back to the chem plant to pick up my trailer and the place was locked up like Fort Knox and not a soul to be found. Needless to say I was wigging out big time. The load was set for delivery on Friday down in Alabama. The plan was to run it down there over night and deliver right at 7:30 am, get on my break after unloading and drive back Friday eve to be home where I could leave first thing Saturday morning to leave out on my time off.

I called dispatch and told them what happened. I won't go into all the details of that conversation but I was told to just wait there until morning to see if someone showed up. By the grace of God, two people showed up and I was able to get the trailer and paper work. I hooked it, pre-tripped and was gone around 8am Friday morning. I made the delivery on time, got unloaded and had enough time to make it back to the Morrow terminal. Had to take my 10hr break there as I did not want to get a violation on the e-log.

Seems like I can't win with that place up there in Cleveland. I went there another time, dropped my trailer for loading. Asked them if I could take my break on their yard. They said sure. At 1:00am in the morning they are banging on my truck waking me up wanting me to spot the trailer for them. There is a yard dog parked right in front of my tractor...??? I told myself that would not happen again. Spent my break somewhere else this time and almost did not get my load. You got to love this stuff sometimes.
