The reset swith is on the APU unit and the ENG code doesn't flash; it just shows steady during the start up process. pressing the reset did nothing.

hmmm... that's strange....
-
I have not had a working apu since last year. I'm home every night so I don't care to go to thermo King and spend the day waiting to get it fixed. Since its been so cold and we don't have electrical outlets to plug the engines in my truck has been idling every night this week.
-
I just remembered the reset sequence for the apu.
Key off, apu control panel off. Push and hold regeneration switch on dash for a ten count, push reset button that's under the bunk,
Turn apu back on from the control panel. It worked for me last summer on my old truck so give it a try on yours. -
Close dagwood but not completely. .
1. With truck off press regen button for apu and hold
2. Turn key.to the on position and count to 20 then release button
3. Turn key off and turn apu off then back on
this clears all the codes... if they return then you have other problems
I am lucky as my truck does not have a regen system for the apu.. for some reason they never put one on it and I was told they would get one later... I have never brought it up since and have no problems.... -
I'll try it when I'm out of bed long enough!
This ol' iPad hasn't been on a charger for two days, so it's running on the last bit of juice it has. With that, I'll just say I've learns important lessons today; yes, Rachel DOES want all the blocks on the trip sheet filled out. YES, I have to redo the four I obviously sent and re-Transflo them. YES, my left arm door seal does leak air when it's blowing and cold.
I've been to three places today, only one of which was memorable...the Walmart DC in Grove City. It's hard to get to the first time, easily missed and difficult to get back to without going down non-truck roads. Don't ask how I know. Then finding an empty is a lot of driving around fun.
So here I am at a "rest area" on Ohio 33. I hate how this state does its rest area truck parking; parallel park against each curb. There's enough room for about 8-10 trucks only. They need to learn...!
Tomorrow, i head for a Campbell supplier in Napolean, Ohio, a funny address my Garmin cannot find; that's why I carry two truck GPS units - the RM found it no problem. Then it's on to a Green Bay for the 1730 delivery. On Monday. Yup. Two days from tomorrow.
Maybe I'll stop at the shop in Indy on the way and see about this APU. And yellow 'engine' warning light. And why, all of a sudden I'm pouring oil into this guy like its bone dry.
I'm glad I'm no longer with my previous company. That pileup on I 94 was right on one of our main, daily travel routes. And I think I saw at least one all-white truck...it's been cold here but at least there hasn't been any snow. So far.Last edited: Jan 24, 2014

Denali... truck 10543 .. my truck will be available next week as soon as I return it... see if you can get it.. I have taken good care of it....good luck
DenaliDad and double yellow Thank this. -
I'm sitting in a a Pilot in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. I was supposed to be in Green Bay dropping this load, but the accidents and black ice all over the southern part of Lake Michigan - like I80/90, for example - put me way behind, so I just decided to stop. Today is one of those days that make me wish I was in my house, warm and snug, without a care in the world about ice unless it came out of my freezer.
And it's supposed to get EXTREMELY cold in this part of the world soon...as in well below zero again. Oh boy. I can't wait.
Tonight, after my break, I drop this load in Green Bay and pick up a P&G load bound for Kentucky, which I will drop in our Indy yard. Pretty cool. And while I'm there, perhaps the maintenance wizards can figure out why my windshield washer hasn't thrown ONE DROP of fluid on any window. And in this ice and snow season, you KNOW how much fun seeing out an opaque window is. Oh. And why the APU regen light stays solid no matter how many times I hit the 'regen' switch on the road.
And Tow, I sure hope you come back here from time to time. Your input is invaluable to me. The only issue I've had is recent: Your steps to clear the APU faults resulted in a new light...the DPF Status yellow light is now on; it came on when I followed your steps. And the ENG fault stayed. I was so hopeful. My guess is a visit to Those Who Know is needed if I want the bugger to work. And I do! -
Did you clear.the engine codes...if not just turn the battery switch off for 20 minutes.. the bunk heater will still work during this time.
once you clear the codes if they come back on then you have other problems... good luck as there are an enormous amount of trucks down right now with the same problems...
as I said.. try to get my truck... talk to bri about it Monday. ..I should have it back hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday -
I also realized another contributing factor. This truck had been sitting since probably mid-December in the yard. The last pretrip was dated then and none of the 2014 stickers were on anything. All of them, including the 2014 IFTA sticker and the new permits, were in an unopened envelope addressed to another driver's ID in one of the cabinets. I'm glad I checked before driving off! In fact, the EZPass/PrePass wasn't even installed. I had to mount it, too.
