Denali, good to see you landed feet down!
Don't worry about the weather...soon you'll be complaining about the heat!

Hey, Emul! Thanks for stopping by. And I SO want to sweat and complain about the heat.

First drop in Dekalb. This reminds me so much of my previous regional job: grab a load at the DC and deliver it to two stores. The plow guys here forgot how to move snow away from the travel lane behind the mall and the turn lane going out, so getting in was loads of fun. Fortunately, the only traffic were trash trucks and I only managed to irritate one. But when it's finally time to leave, I have to back into the small neighborhood street, somehow turn around to avoid non-truck roads, and get back to the freeway.

Life as a truck driver in a Chicagoland Winter is never boring, is it?

Making my second and final drop in Iowa. This is probably the trickiest dock I've ever had to get in. Before I started, the manager told me some drivers spent 3 hours trying to get in and I now know why. One way in, one way out. Back around the corner of a building, then down a driveway, then twist it at the end to get to the dock. While avoiding the dumpster that is inconveniently in the way.

Yeah, I much prefer DC to DC loads. But I got in on the first try; got a high-5 and a nice compliment from a pretty female dock worker, so I feel good about it. Now all I have to do is get out without dragging my ##### end over that dumpster...

Well, everybody, I'm afraid I have bad news.

I missed the dumpster so there won't be any film at 11. Oh, darn.

However, I do have another problem. After picking up my 44,000 lbs load bound for Kentucky, my steers weighed in at 12,120, but that was with a whole lot of snow on the CAT pad. And my APU seems to be working - all by itself, thank you very much - plus the temperature is above 15, so no idling to burn off some fuel.

What to do, what to do...

I would run it and not worry... don't think anyone would hassle you for 12,120...
