Yup. Not brand new. But newer. It is what it is. If things go south here I'll be shouting at you for a hook up over there. Lol.

I rarely speak I'll of another carrier's driver because I surely know that I've done my share of silly things and messed up other drivers lives. But I'm parked in a dock waiting for my loading to begin. To get here, I had to back around a Swift truck that's parked right in the middle of the turning area for all these doors on the building and he's not doing anything. He's parked crooked, taking up what would be two spaces...if there WERE parking spaces there...so it's not been an easy slide-by-me parking job.
I don't think much of Swift's training or oversight program. I know there must be good ones at that company - with 15,000 drivers, statistically it's gotta happen - but this guy is not one of them.
And I don't think he even knows how irritating his parking job is.tow614 Thanks this. -
Why don't you point it out to him. I think a lot of people are so self absorbed they don't realize what they are doing. I have asked plenty of guys to move at some of the produce shacks. Most are okay, some give me an attitude. I just tell them it is my first trip out and I am not very good at backing and might hit them and they usually move.

burning the extra fuel for the climb, ware and tare on the equipment (What fresh air? All I smell is burning breaks!), and driver fatigue.
I also think On time delivery does not enter into their process either.
One advantage to refer/produce: Customers will not let you go over I70. The lettuce explodes. Well the cells rupture but exploding lettuce sounds better.
Hanging in Vaughn NM tonight. Glad to be outa the heat. Delivered in San Diego the other day and it was pushing 90. That sucks in the summer time. Then was hung up in LA and Yuma for a day each. -
Hey blu..next time you see the pizza man say hi for me.
I miss that guy..lol -
I asked for routing from Ohio to Rancho in Cali. It is only 33 miles longer, much flatter and much easier on the epuipment. I got routed down to I-40. The old original "Route 66".

I made it as far as the Cummins dealer in Hodgkins, Illinois. Then the second engine light came on and OTR had me come here for a check up. It's full, it's snowing, there's ice in the ground, a million broken trucks all around...and an "all day wait" once I finally get into the shop.
The life of a trucker.double yellow Thanks this. -
Oh. And a 14-hour clocks that ticks down...slowly...surely...toward STOP.
