Finally got the trailer parked and dropped...in the only place here!...and now I wait. They took it right in, so maybe it won't be an "all day wait."

Update: Having been in the aviation business for 40+ years, I am very familiar with the problem of the techs not being able to duplicate a pilot's write-up on the ground. That seems to be the case here.
On my truck, both yellow engine caution lights were on today, which is what brought me here. The Cummins service manager just came up to tell me there are no new faults in the brain and no other indication of any problem area, so they're not really sure what's wrong. The coolant level was a bit low, but not below the lower level, and one of the clamps took a ¾ turn to tighten, but all the recorded faults are 180+ hours old. So they've updated the software and will do a regen and send me out the door.
Apparently, adding coolant is something Cummins recommends be done daily. I did not know that. Made me wonder why I don't have a bottle of coolant in my side box, along with the oil and washer fluid...
It's about time I got a truck. -
Gti only wants you to add water... I always carried a.gallon for that reason.

I finally made it out of Cummins, but not before the heavy snow hit. By the time I left, there was 7" on the ground and more falling. I'm now parked in The a Greater Chicago I-55Auto/Truck Plaza, a pay-to-park place. But you know what? I wasn't even going to try any of the national truck stops in the area; they're farther away, very small, and with this weather, probably filled up hours ago. Here, I'm dry and safe in the snow, parked next to anHTLD truck. And all for a mere $10. Why wouldn't I?
I learned a bit more about how important the coolant is while I was at Cummins, so buying a jug to carry will be a high priority item for me. They identified and fixed the leak (a loose connection, I think) so I'm now without warning lights! And THAT, dear reader, is the best part of a pretty miserable day. I should be in Des Moines right now, but I'm only in Bollingwood, so my Friday delivery is in jeopardy.
Thems the names on this game. -
DD you seem to have my luck from last week. But I didnt have the snow. I dropped my load in Sand Springs OK and am now in Jenks OK about 30 miles from my drop. I get a load tomorrow afternoon going to Tempe AZ. It might be the heat But its better than the snow...

1) Cash advance from GTI. I forget the amount you can pull and how often. It's deducted from the next settlement. Just request it at the pump when you get fuel and get cash @ fuel desk.
2) If your settlement goes onto your ComData Card. Make out a draft and cash it when you get fuel. Normally no charge if you get 60 gallons or more. Warning: Loves and Pilot limit you to $300 IIRC. TA/Petro is higher limit.
3) Walmart! restock the truck (food, drink, and Sundries for the driver / coolant, oil, and cleaning supplies for the truck) use a non-self check out line and grab some cash at the register on the way out the door -
Heck even the Mexi-BBQ @ Salinas Valley Truck stop is a pleasant changetow614 Thanks this. -
I was looking forward to cooling off in OH/KY but got rerouted down to Dallas today (I'm NON-GTI/Heartland) and just got here from I40 OK/TX line.
looks like back to the AZ frying pan for me......
Need to get me an APU soon. -
