Well, I just had my Gordon Trucking exit interview with a representative of the company in Denver that conducts them. It was a series of a dozen or so questions about the company, my DM, senior management - what he called 'leadership ' - and the equipment. I answered honestly and gave him some suggestions for improvement. At the end, his final questions were 'why did you leave?' (a suspended CDL will make one do that) and 'would it be alright if GTI calls later to inquire about re employment?' I told him a year is a long time to wait so probably not.
My guess is that is the last I will hear from Gordon Trucking. By the time my CDL is reinstated in March 2015, the transition to Heartland Express will almost be complete; in fact, the USDOT by then will probably ask GTI to surrender their authority. I do not have and will not have any interest in working for Heartland.Last edited: Mar 22, 2014

Wow mine was more like interrogation where they asked "why did you leave" 3 or 4 different ways.
They didn't ask about calling me up for reemployment... -
They asked me if i would consider going back to gti and i told her gti no longer existed..

It's kind of sad. I really wanted GTI to be my 'last' trucking company. I guess it will turn out that way, but I surely did not want it to end like this. And after only 6 weeks. I wanted to leave on my terms, but things are what they are. Ah, well. On to other things.
The snow is melting - albeit slowly, and there is more in the forecast - but the hot yellow Mustang came out of the garage and I'm planning some trips, including Lawton to visit my grandchildren and Salt Lake City to spend a week or so in the LDS Family History Center doing genealogy on my family. I am the oldest of all my living family members and my immigrant ancestors left me nothing about their histories, so connecting the dots has been difficult, even using ancestry.com. -
Sounds like this will be a promising year for you DD starting with the garage door opening things do happen for a reason.
