Hello everyone, after almost 6 years off the road, I'm seriously considering going back to trucking and in the process of renewing my cdl on my own......I've been told 2 weeks with a trainer after orientation...... What's the pay during those 2 weeks if anyone knows and what is the starting CPM with the reefer fleet? Any info will do greatly appreciated.... Thanks

You are a little late to the party my friend as everyone who was participating in this thread no longer works for gordon.

if you were to provide a little more info as to your location we may be able to better assist you..

    good luck

If they will work with you and get you the current otr experience you need it may not be a bad idea as starter companies go.

give it a year then you will be able to find something better...

UPDATE: There is no change to my situation nor will there be until March 2015. In the meantime, I am working on information-gathering and decision-making. What is next depends on factors and circumstances as yet unknown. Gordon might be in my future and might not, depending what happens in the next six months. Meanwhile, I keep this little contribution active...I hope.

Good luck to you, Denali. Glad to see you updating us. Probably more drivers go through what you're going through this year and would like to hear more about what it took to get through it when you get into a position to look back on it.

    What are you doing now?

Nothing, really. Sitting around the house trying to conserve ever-diminishing funds. Because of it, I probably will have to go find a part-time, minimum wage job soon enough.

I'm hoping the increasing shortage of drivers and increased freight work to my benefit. But I'm also on this side of a Winter and who knows what that will bring. At least Gordon understands the details. We will see...but I have to survive another 7 months.
