My new Mack Vision

    guys, I been wanting one for a while but the right truck never came along. So naturally I gave up on trying to find one of these rare beasts. Fate intervened and I jumped on the opportunity to get an 80” sleeper when I saw it pop up for sale on Facebook by some random chance and now I’m the proud new owner of a 2000 Mack Vision just shy of 2M miles.

    Its got the E7 460 under the hood and a 13 speed Eaton 3.73 gear ratio and I’m the second owner.

    any of you fellas could point me to where I can learn about the 460 and What RPM it likes to operate at I’d really like to improve upon my fuel efficiency. I’m going to be using it to haul otr with a dry van.

    Does it have the nice interior package too? That year they had 100 year anniversary visions. The 460 has a crap torque curve. Gotta keep the rpm's up to get anywhere. 427 has more low rpm grunt and is only a download from Mack, no hard parts

    The guys at Rochester are knowledgeable and be happy help you troubleshoot any issues over the phone. Just don't let them talk you into their overpriced turbo kit. Big mack trucks has a forum

    I agree on the 460.

    There is a company in the area who went into a goodly number of Macks.

    80 inch condo eh? Wonders never cease.

    I am not much of a chrome person unless you keep a nice Air Can on the side of the hood or something like they do on KW's, Petes and older R model Macks.

    Good luck with it. Hopefully it will make you some money.

    I’ll have to take a look at that 427 program. I also heard of an XT versión I might be able to get my hands on at the Mack forum if I’m lucky.

    Just wish I could get some graphs with the torque and rpm ranges

    Forget about the xt file. Its hen's teeth. Go on rochesters site and look at the blixxton 200. We have that on the 99 set forward axle 460. It really came alive after that. It changes injector pulse and timing.

    Nice truck, except that guy at the truck wash looks like he trying to sandblast the paint off your truck with the pressure wash.

    Are you going to get a replacement lower skirt for the right side of the truck?
