It is not uncommon for new trucks to need an alignment straight from the factory. I did my new one at 30k and again at 100k and now it’s fine. It was off the first two times.

I would have thought the same until I saw first hand. 2017 W900 with around 75k on it having stiff steering and binding issues. Turned out the upper u joint was dry as a bone.

You may have a binding steering gear, had a few trucks that used steering gears made in Mexico within the same week with a similar but not exact issue. On the first truck, it was adjusted a coupe times but never acted right, so it was replaced at my expense and it was good. Had to jump through hoops to get WS to pay for it but then I had the other trucks gone through and four more were replaced at WS expense.

What kind of tires? Your description of a "heavy" feel sounds more like tires to me.

Yeah I greased the steering wheel u joints still the same. I think a better way to describe it is a stiffer steering wheel. You have to use more strength to turn whereas before I could turn it with my pinky. It was perfectly fine, I got an alert that my load got cancelled so I pulled into a truckstop, read the details, then I pulled out of the truckstop and thought I had a flat steer tire since that is when it immediately felt stiff and been that way ever since. So it was normal until I pulled into a fuel island and pulled back off.

Well an alignment issue is the truck is pulling one way or the other. Not slightly, a lot.

    Could be a power steering.

They had a Driver on here recently with a hard steering problem. Turned out to be binding slip shaft on steering column. Something to check anyway, maybe not greased enough from factory. Might need to be pumped up full of grease.
