John, thanks so much for posting your o/o information. I post similar information on my blog from the perspective of a lease-purchase operator and it is nice seeing other operator's numbers to gain perspective.

Keep it up and good luck!

Right now with this slow economy I'm doing about 50% d/h. When the economy was strong, it was 75% +/-.

John, following you will find your September 2009 monthly financial statement.

In looking at the September financials, you are showing a Net Profit of $41,695
for the year-to-date period. This comes out to $0.422 cents per mile and is
based on 98,877 paid miles. You are averaging 10,986 paid miles per month this
year compared with 12,045 monthly miles you averaged last year. You were out
on the road 250 days through the end of September 2009 (92% in service) and
averaged 396 miles for each day you were out.

Your maintenance expense for the first nine months of 2009 was $7,501 or
$0.076 cpm and your tractor supplies expense was $152 or $0.002 cpm.
Together your variable tractor expenses remain right in line with expectations.

Fuel costs averaged $0.324 cpm less fuel surcharge reimbursements of $0.183.
This results in a net fuel cost of $0.141 which is still very good.

Total miles for the month were 11,714 with a $1.211 avg. cpm. Total operating cost were .769 cpm.. Keep in mind I still have taxes and maintainance account to deduct.

Conclusion (as I've stated before) not doing any better than a company driver. I continue to seek better opportunities, but the area I live in is not good for most OTR companys, even those that are 100% O/O. I'm not getting rich, but am enjoying the experience.

John, following you will find your October 2009 monthly financial statement.

In looking at the October financials, you are showing a Net Profit of $44,523 for
the year-to-date period. This comes out to $0.402 cents per mile and is based
on 110,683 paid miles. You are averaging 11,068 paid miles per month this year
compared with 12,045 monthly miles you averaged last year. You were out on
the road 273 days through the end of October 2009 (90% in service) and
averaged 405 miles for each day you were out.

Your maintenance expense for the first ten months of 2009 was $10,721 or
$0.097 cpm and your tractor supplies expense was $215 or $0.002 cpm. Your
maintenance expense includes tire costs of $2,615 for the month. Due to high
tire costs in October, your variable tractor expenses are about $0.02 higher than
we would expect for the year.

Fuel costs averaged $0.332 cpm less fuel surcharge reimbursements of $0.187.
This results in a net fuel cost of $0.145 which continues to be an excellent net
    fuel cost.

I averaged $1.211cpm again this month. I drove 11,806 miles in 23 days this month.

Search his name and you will find his wed site. It takes me less than an hours time each month to input expenses on his secure wed site. He has a working relationship with Crete, so he can veiw my weekly settlements from their data base. Any questions I've had he, or his emplyee John, has been more than happy to spend time on the phone talking to me about them.

I am currently paying $70 per month, and have done so for the past 3.5 yrs since I began using his services. However, I encourage you to call to make sure new clients aren't paying a different price.

John, following you will find your December 2009 monthly financial statement.

The December numbers represent your final financial statement for 2009. They
should agree with Schedule C of your federal income tax return although there
may be some adjustment as additional income tax information is received.

In looking at the December financials, you are showing a Net Profit of $55,005 for
the year-to-date period. This comes out to $0.411 cents per mile and is based
on 133,693 paid miles. Due to higher maintenance & fuel costs and lower
productivity, your Net Profit was $8,085 lower in 2009 compared to 2008.
You averaged 11,141 paid miles per month this year compared with 12,045
monthly miles you averaged last year. You were out on the road 325 days
through the end of December 2009 (89% in service) and averaged 411 miles for
each day you were out. By comparison you were out on the road 322 days last
year and averaged 454 miles/day. You were out 3 more days but your daily
productivity declined by 43 miles/day resulting in 10,843 fewer paid miles in 2009
    versus 2008.

Your maintenance expense for 2009 was $11,923 or $0.089 cpm and your
tractor supplies expense was $487 or $0.004 cpm. Together your variable
tractor expenses end the year a little higher than we would expect to see and
about $0.04 higher than last year. Fuel costs averaged $0.342 cpm less fuel
surcharge reimbursements of $0.198. This results in a net fuel cost of $0.144
which is very good but $0.014 higher than 2008.

Your tractor depreciation expense for 2009 was $23,195, or $0.173 cpm. 2009
was the fourth year of a five year depreciation schedule for your tractor.

I averaged $1.24 p/m on 10,565 miles for the month of December. Total revenue for the month was $13,098, and total revenue for the year was $157,615 at an average of $1.179 p/m for the year.

I'm not getting rich, and would like to drive fewer miles for the same, or better money. However, I won't pull flatbed, or household, and after many phone calls to other companys, and talks with other O/Os, I feel I'm in the best stiuation for myself at this time due to the current economy.

I'm open to any info that will lead to my desired goal. (fewer miles, more money) :biggrin_255:
