My numbers as an O/O leased to Crete

    Thank you for informing me of that. I currently have my application in with Crete as a company driver anyway. I will do what it takes to restore my credit and finance me a truck, by then maybe Crete will be putting on OO's again. I feel that good things are coming for the future.:walk:

    jdrentzjr, Did you look into buying a used tractor and does Crete have a policy on used trucks? And if so,what are the requirements on older truck?

    I did consider buying a used fleet truck from Crete, but after crunching the numbers I found that it would cost me about $150-$200 a month more to buy a new truck. However, the loan would be two years longer for a new truck. The reason I chose a new truck was that if a person wants to buy a used fleet truck they don't get to choose the truck, and I did not want to get into a smokers truck or get a truck with possible maintainance issues not covered under warranty.

    The requirements to qualify for buying a new or used truck remain the same.

    How about if you went to a dealer and bought your own used truck instead of their used smoke bomb trucks?

    Yes, you can do that.

    At this time, due to slow economy, Crete is not hiring o/os. As of two weeks ago I was told it may not be until the first of next year before they begin hiring o/os.

    The information I have given was to let you, and others, know, and understand, that Crete does NOT offer lease purchase, and the requirments to purchase from, or through Crete. When they do hire o/os.

    If you start as a company driver, and then express an interest to become an o/o, you would probably be among the first to know when they do start the hiring of o/os. I don't know that to be fact, I'm just sayin'.

    I've talked to them about that...i would have to buy a truck from them in order to be an o/o cant go to a dealer..but we talked and right now with my low miles its not in my best intrest to buy a truck.

    As I posted previously Crete is not hiring outside O/Os, so your statement is currently true. But when they begin to hire outside O/Os again an O/O can purchase a truck where ever he/she wants.

    You do make a good point changing from shaffer to crete. Is there much pay diff between the reefer and dry as an o/o?

    I think Shaffer pays .02 per mile more. You can look at both web sites to compair. However, as a general rule, the dry side will get more miles per week due to the drop/hooks, and much quicker load/unloads.

    John, following you will find your June 2009 monthly financial statement.

    In looking at the June financials, you are showing a Net Profit of $26,650 for the
    year-to-date period. This comes out to $0.414 cents per mile and is based on
    64,311 paid miles. You are averaging 10,719 paid miles per month this year
    compared with 12,045 monthly miles you averaged last year. You were out on
    the road 160 days through the end of June 2009 (88% in service) and averaged
    402 miles for each day you were out.

    Your maintenance expense for the first six months of 2009 was $4,837 or $0.075
    cpm and your tractor supplies expense was $109 or $0.002 cpm. Together your
    variable tractor expenses remain right in line with expectations.

    Fuel costs averaged $0.315 cpm less fuel surcharge reimbursements of $0.163.
    This results in a net fuel cost of $0.152 which continues to be a good net fuel​
    cost.

    My total revenue per mile for the first six months is $1.145. Total operating costs (variable 0.424, fixed 0.307) is at 0.731 per mile.

    Miles since mid April have increased significantly. I pray this trend will continue as I try to make up for lost time that happened at the begining of the year.
