In other news I'm going to be on a different route but still with Paul. I'm taking the Metals USA gig. Mostly dedicated and/or very close by with the possibility of being home every nights, as this is a multi stop drop gig. Roughly the same amount of miles so same pay.

    Update.

I am no longer employed with Paul Transportation, I left 10/28/15.

Here's my closing observation on this company:

This place is a good starter company, and that's about it. If you do drive for these people stay on the OTR side, and away from the local/ regional department.

The local / regional is called Metals USA, and seems great in the beginning, but is just an ate up group of people. I was overbooked on many occasions and expected to pretty much pull rabbits out of a hat.

The straw that broke the camels back for me, was I had a very important court date I couldn't miss, and I ran over on driving time. I got my ### chewed for it. The lack of concern for the driver, with loads of warning about a specific date needed off sealed the deal for me.

The fleet is going to all automatic transmission and rumors of a 60 mph governor are looming.

Again this is a great way to get your feet wet in this line of work, but that's it. Most folks don't make it 6 months.

I'm now a contractor for Miller Truck Lines, so see you out there. Be safe in all you do.

Crusader66, pusherman and TB John Thank this.
