Unemployed people get hired every day in trucking, that's not what's keeping you out. It sounds like you worked under the table for a while. I wouldn't list that as experience.

There are hundreds of companies to try. Call them all! Roehl, PGT, Maverick, Melton, Stevens, TransAm to name just a few who do a lot of hiring, don't always pay well, but they do train and then you can move on.

I have enjoyed this thread a lot and looking forward to Feb. 2, If I can get everything done in time. But was wondering if Jimmybones was still out there? Have not seen any recent posts from him.
JimmyBones Thanks this. -

In the video you posted, doesn't sound like he wanted prime to hold his hand, two gallons of urin is way to much, I've seen drivers pull out two milk jugs full, not acceptable! Very nasty, I don't know the guy in the video, but based on what he said? I wouldn't have staid in the truck ether, just because your a rookie and inexperienced doesn't mean you need to put up with that

I am do to start training with prime on Jan. 12, really been looking forward to it for sometime now just had to take care of personal things before hitting the open road, really excited.

Not all trainers or instructors are great. Those who mistreat the students need to be reported. We depend on you to tell us what's going on, prime can't be big brother watching every single thing on every single truck.

Well hopefully I will get a good trainer. Ex navy person. Classic rock is my choice of music but like some country also. Fished bass tournaments for 15 years. Looking forward to getting to Springfield. One question I have is. I live about 100 miles away. Should I drive up there or have someone drive me up there and bring the vehicle back home?
-
I lived about the same distance and just had my wife bring me up because I didn't need a vehicle while on the road. My trainer only lived forty miles from me so it also helped.

There's secure on-site parking for personal vehicles. If you don't have someone who can pick you up for hometime, you'll need to consider how you'll get around. IIRC, you're too close to the terminal to bobtail a company tractor home.
