Let us know if secondhand smoke from the hippy on the greyhound bus gives you any trouble with the pee-test.

JimmyBones...Seriously considering Prime this summer. Please let me know what division you join and what the mini-cab experience is like. Newbie here and I would need to work out of their Conyers (Atlanta) hub. Thanks for taking the time.

P.S. I haven't applied or talked to a recruiter yet. Be happy to give you the referral bonus if you keep the posts in your spare time. Thnx.

Sure thing, brother. I'll pm you my recruiter's number if you like. She's a cool chick.

Ok, so orientation, day one, was busy as sin.

Up at five for shave and shower, breakfast (free) at six, and a start to class at seven.

Phase one of orientation was to get security stuff done (fingerprinting, right to work, piss quiz), followed by finishing paperwork.

Next came medical. It was split up into two sections, first the blood pressure, lift, and sight and hearing tests with the nurse, then lunch, then the doc checks your body a bit more thoroughly, but it is all quite quick and painless - except for the poor saps with sleep issues or who fail body mass.

After that is the "interview," which is just the personnel folks double checking paperwork and your app against your DAC and background check and stuff.

Then a class on PTI, which is a video you should already be pretty familiar with. Then dinner. Then simulator road testing (I passed with a hundred), then your day is done.

Everybody here is really cool, but quite strict on being on time, and they won't mess with you unless you don't listen.

So far, I feel really good about the company.

My orientation has maybe twenty folk. The student driver class is considerably larger.

It's a new management scheme to save on washer fluid. If you're going slow enough, the bugs just fly away when ya stop! :biggrin_2559:

So is this considered their "refresher training"? If so what did this cost you? (or do you have to drive for them for a certain period of time; like you were a newbie that didn't have a CDL) trying to get some info on their refresher without having to call up a recruiter lol.

Cost? They're PAYING him $600 a week coming in as a B-seat. The "refresher" part (in his PARTICULAR case) is 15,000 miles on a trainers truck - 3 to 4 weeks.

    superpet39 Thanks this.
