Regardless if you take a physical before you go you will still have to do Prime's physical when you get there. If you are a big guy you can pretty much count on taking the sleep test. You dont always need the machine for sleep apnea I am 6'4" and 330 pounds and did not require the machine. But being over the bmi is not an immediate disqualifier.

I live in California and I am on home time right now. Your dispatcher will route you home there is a lot of frieght coming and going into California.

What is there BMI limit? For the military it was like 22 max. I am not fat (18% body fat). I am 5'10" 205lbs. Yet my BMI for most scales is like 29. I think its funny. Muscle is more dense than fat so I can weigh 205 with no gut but someone else can be 205 and all fat. I'd like to know because I hate the BMI scale as it is very inaccurate.

Does Prime do any dedicated out of California? Or let you run regional out of Cali? One of the few reasons I am looking at Schneider it because they offer 11 state regional as well as transfers to other divisions in other states easily.

My BMI is 42. 5'11" 302lbs and I just passed my DOT 2 year card no sleep apnea test needed etc.
BigJayDragon Thanks this. -
Well, since you are going to work for Roehl, your BMI means squat when answering a question about BMI limits for a sleep study at Prime.
thats what the question was... BMI limits at Prime.
Thank you for adding to the confusion -
The DOT physical regulations are the same nationwide. Companies may use BMI as a qualifier for sleep apnea studies. They also use your answers to the medical questions along a visual throat test. BMI is used to see if you need to answer the questions and have the throat examined etc too. Just trying to help so BIG guys do not worry and I was pre hired by Prime and may still go there. That is why I am in here with Jimmy.

Boy you Roehl recruits really think you know how it works. 2nd guy who thinks he knows what goes on at Prime and tries to speak as some authority on the subject.
A pre hire? Excuse me.
DOT sets minnimum physical standards.
A company can set any parameter above the minimum they choose as long as they apply it evenly to all applicants. Prime does so on a number of things. BMI, Disbetes A1C test limit, they disqualify a number of anxiety and anti depressant medications.
Prime does use the BMI as a qualifier and has been doing so for a few years now. I garauntee that a 42 BMI will trigger the test at Prime. However Im not exactly sure what the lower BMI limit is currently. Last I heard it was 39 or maybe 33...
you come to Prime, your two year card won't mean a thing. Prime doc will give you a new examination, and with a 42 BMI you will get a three month card and an appointment with the sleep clinic... After that you will never get better than a one year card until you either pass the test. -
There's no BMI limit at Prime. It's just one of the conditions that may lead to a sleep study.

Yes, I should make that clear. There is no limit to hire. There is a threshold that the doctor will use as a requirement for the sleep test.
you refuse the request for testing, you are not hired.
